NEW YORK (AP) — A man who drove off the road in this week’s snowstorm spent 10 hours trapped in his car after a passing plow and rapidly accumulating snow buried it, finally managing to get a 911 call through and being rescued in the nick of time by a New York state trooper. Kevin Kresen, 58, of Candor, drove off the road in the town of Owego and became “plowed in by a truck,” state police said. “If he was in there for another hour his body temperature would have gone lower, and I’m convinced he wouldn’t have made...

If you're looking at the Drive-By Media, you think the only thing happening is Trump-McCain. I just got my audio sound bite roster. You know how many audio sound bites I have today? I've got 18. It was just a cockroach, one of millions around the world. But this one had a White House address, making it pretty special. Well, special at least to the reporters with workspace in the often-troubled basement of the press offices. Already this year, they have been treated to flooding, soaked carpet, mousetraps and the wondrous odors of mold.

Whenever birds fly in front of moving vehicles, usually the bird is the one that loses. But a great horned owl can teach other birds a thing about surviving those situations. Sonji Coney-Williams was driving Feb. 7 on Florida's Turnpike through Yeehaw Junction when she saw something fly in front of her SUV and heard a smack, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. She continued driving for 150 miles to Plantation, not thinking about the incident, until the next day when someone told her she had a bird trapped in the grill of the sport utility vehicle....

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: I was watching Fox this morning -- well, I never really watch it, it's just on while I'm in the midst of doing show prep. Sometimes, for whatever reason, I'll actually look at the monitor, something attracts my attention, sometimes I'm just looking for a break from what I'm doing. I looked up there and I saw this graphic the bottom of the screen. You know what it said? "Sandy victims shiver in Northeast without heat." Victims of Hurricane Sandy.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. —The last time Jacob and Bonnie Richter saw their 4-year-old tortoiseshell cat Holly, she bolted out of their motor home at the Daytona International Speedway on Nov. 4, apparently frightened by fireworks. For days, the distraught couple searched for Holly, putting up flyers and alerting rescue agencies before despondently heading home to West Palm Beach. There was a brief glimmer of hope two weeks later when a rescue group spotted the distinctive cat outside of a Daytona Beach restaurant which fed feral cats. But before the Richters could drive there, Holly had disappeared. Then she showed...

TAMPA -- Last month, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office received an anonymous call about three shots fired and a dog possibly buried in the backyard of a Clair-Mel City vacant home. When investigators arrived at the home, 3221 Deerfield Dr., Tampa, they found a 2-year-old female pit bull mix buried up to its nose. A Hillsborough County Animal Services animal control officer used her hands to dig the dog out. The dog had been shot twice and was bleeding profusely, said Pam Perry, an Animal Services investigations manager. "For her to even be alive when the officer got there is...

There are obviously verifiable vote fraud problems in North Carolina. In 2010 those problems surfaced meaningfully as indicated in the below voter fraud post from an earlier Charlotte Conservative Examiner article: Perhaps in an effort to promote North Carolina as one of the healthiest States in the Nation, this latest voter twist comes to us from Susan Myrick of the Civitas Institute in North Carolina--not to be confused with Rep. Sue Myrick of NC who is unrelated. In a radio interview with local WBT Anchor Tara Servatious, Susan reports that she has been keeping track of the number of votes...

TAMPA -- Army Staff Sgt. Matt Sitton's letter from the combat zone helped turn a congressman against the war in Afghanistan. His letter to his wife from about the same time offers a glimpse into the experiences shaping his views of the war. In the letter, Sitton lashes out at his commanders, saying they were blaming their troops for failing to stop casualties. He wonders in his writing about why troops are even in Afghanistan. And he predicted the conditions his men were subject to would have ripple effects far beyond the battlefield. Complaining about an unnamed company commander, Sitton...

Employees at the venerable Gallup polling firm suggested they felt threatened by Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod when he questioned the methodology of a mid-April poll showing Mitt Romney leading the president – according to internal emails published Thursday. That poll showed Romney leading Obama 48-43 percent. The exchange, according to emails published by The Daily Caller, started when Axelrod sent a tweet saying the tracking poll was “saddled with some methodological problems” and directing followers to a National Journal story in which a professor suggested outdated sampling. According to the email chain titled “Axelrod vs. Gallup,” the White House...

RUSH: Obama, in his speech last night, said two things which are not true. Well, one thing was said about him which isn't true, and he said something himself that isn't true. His wife, Michelle (My Belle) Obama, during her speech, I think even Clinton during his speech, I think Biden during his speech, said that Obama was constantly by his mother's bedside when she was ill, passing away. But he wasn't. He was on his book tour. I have here nothing less than the Washington Post, August, 2008. It's an actual random act of journalism. The Washington Post went...
