I'll be astounded by any substantial cuts in state budget items. I'm expecting the Davis budget, announced tomorrow, to be mostly borrowing, higher taxes, 'fees', and wishful revenue projections that won't be proved wrong until after the election
The budget deficit is now projected to be at least $20b. It will be interesting to see how he wiggles out of this, since the budget is supposed to be balanced in theory every year. Like you, I expect much higher taxes next year.
Someone more witty than myself said that Edward's reminded him of a Ken doll (Barbie's boyfriend). Just a little too good-looking and slick to be real.
I agree that Edward's a junior version of Clinton. As former Senator Kerry said, Clinton is an unusually good liar, unusually good. But Edward's not that good...yet.
"Abdullah is hurt and humiliated," said a State Dept. official. "He made what he felt was a generous offer, only to see it entirely ignored, not just by Israel, but seemingly by the United States."
Why do I have the impression that the US State Dept is part of the problem and not the solution? Too many Arabists there, maybe?

Its fun watching Dimocrat Davis and the even more dim legislature figure out how to balance the budget. Except in the end you know that they will increase taxes.
