I’m not sure this is a good indicator of anything in particular. Buffett unloaded a tremendous amount of Apple stock, which I believe (but am not sure) was his biggest holding.
The market is pretty danged high right now. I don’t fault him for his caution taking on new (to him) issues.
The resale on Tacos is just amazing. My brother bought a Taco and sold it about ten years later (to the dealer!) and probably lost $3000 on the trade-in.
We also go visit & work on his wine property near Eureka, CA from time to time. One would think that since most vineyard workers are from Mexico, there would be a clear majority of Fords and Chevy/GMC trucks parked in all the parking lots. Nope. Toyotas, by far.
That’s funny, but honestly, there’s no way that Steve Gadd wouldn’t recognize his own playing on the “out” drum section of (the tune) Aja. It’s not that it’s the greatest drum “solo” of all time, but the style is very uniquely Gadd.
I grew up in a house in New Jersey, built in 1930, pretty typical 2-story sub-1000 sq foot. I know people who still live in that area and they are paying TWELVE GRAND in prop taxes. Texas and Oklahoma have huge prop taxes.
It’s not killjoy to remind you that the biggest bummer on cruises is getting sick. I support everything you might do to have a great time. I worked on RCCL Jewel of the Seas for ten total months. Yes, Celebrity is sold as upscale from Royal Caribbean. It’s 5=10% better. BFD.
The fact of the matter is that when you use the handrails to steady yourself as you walk around the ship, you become at some level intimate with the bathroom habits of perhaps 5000 other people. Sorry if that is gross. The proof? When there are Novo outbreaks on ships, the crew break out the alcohol and bleach and wipe down the handrails.
There are multiple bathrooms on every level of the ship, all over the place. If you are traipsing around the ship and just wandering around, do yourself the biggest favor you can, and wash your hands in hot water every hour or so.
My brother had the wiring eaten out of his brand spanking new Toyota pickup truck some months ago. The insurance company wanted to Total the car(!) the dealer wanted 13k another dealer wanted about 4.5 k the part is about 1.3 K but there is a considerable amount of snaking and pushing and pulling to get it installed.
He often goes 10 days or so in between episodes of driving his truck. In that time he leaves the hood up. It has worked so far.
