I have listened to the prank phone call a couple of times. The voice seems like McCain’s, but would require digital voice analysis, very like a fingerprint, to be sure it was actually McCain.
The topical references that McCain makes in the dialogue make it more believable.
The pranksters didn’t explain how they got access to McCain. I don’t think you can just dial him up.
With all this flying around, the one fairly certain thing is that somebody, maybe even the FBI (as it should be), is investigating and running down leakers. If this lady did it, she might not have even realized what she’s doing, particularly if she’s personal friends with any journalists.
It also makes a difference here, as to the gravity of the leak.
It doesn’t say anything here about the National Guard leak campaign of last Friday, where an organized leak campaign attempted to raise a furor in the MSM about a draft memo, never endorsed by Kelly, never seen or endorsed by Trump. That is serious, and the leaker was not the hapless staffer who wrote the thing, it was the thief who stole it from her.
She came in with Priebus. Joined Priebus as his Chief of Staff when he was still RNC Chairman, in the spring, before the Republican Convention.
NeverTrumper is probably too strong. She did work on a contested convention. Side reports were that her family were NeverTrumpers.
Background on Walsh, currently Deputy Chief of Staff at the WH, reveals she became Reince Priebus' RNC Chief of Staff in the spring, and worked with (Establishment) Republican operatives in preparation for a contested convention.
