Brother just got the shingles (high stress life caught up to him). It's limited to a small area but it smarts a lot. Once it clears up (weeks? months?), he's thinking of getting the latest vaccine (me too). Has anyone taken it? Any advice on how he can get through this?

Omaha City Council approves a new "second hand dealer" ordinance. If you sell precious metals to "2nd hand dealers" (pawn, coin shop, recylers or any other type of business): ---14 day hold time. ---Digital photograph of items bought. ---Signature, photograph’s and fingerprints of sellers. ---ID’s will be collected as well. ---Sellers are entered into a third party Leads Online program that puts all liability on business owners. -------------------------------------------------------- This just begs potential problems. ---One good hack and criminals will discover who's dealing/owning precious metals (PM). ---The city could use this as a backdoor way to institute a municipal tax on...

The passage of the defense spending portion of the Omnibus bill ultimately means there will be increased demand for U.S. steel and aluminum within new defense equipment. The contracts within the procurement process will predictably require the use of U.S. parts. Add the increase in defense spending with the pending global tariffs on steel imports, and the environment is created for foreign investment in domestic steel and metal manufacturing…. Then add into the mix the geopolitical economic relationship developed between India’s Prime Minister Modi and President Trump… And you discover the backdrop for this announcement from India owned JSW Steel:

When it ended with the United States’ first gold in the sport at about 4:15 a.m. Eastern (6:15 p.m. in Korea), more than 77,000 people were streaming the event through NBC’s Olympics website. How many were watching on television on NBCSN? It ended so late that data will not be available until Sunday for the 3 to 4:15 a.m. ET portion of the telecast. But an average of 1.58 million viewers were watching from 1:30 to 3 a.m., a remarkable figure given the hour, the sport and the channel.

Amazon Go allows customers to grab items and just walk out without stopping to pay. =============================================== Amazon’s store of the future has been five years in the making. But the unveiling is just about here. Amazon Go, the company’s first brick-and-mortar convenience store, will open to the public on Monday on the ground floor of Amazon’s new headquarters on Seventh Avenue in Seattle. Though the unveiling will take place about a year later than the company originally planned, it will still be met with great intrigue because of the store’s unique technology that Amazon believes can make checkout lines a...

Just received an email from Twitter (see below) about "banning Russian propaganda" accounts. Not sure if this is legit, a hoax or phishing scam. Has anyone else received this email? I have not clicked on any links about a "blog". If this is legit, I sense a veiled threat when they mention that I've either visited, liked or retweeted these supposed "Russian tweets". It's as though they've "put me on notice" and they're documenting people.

"The only operating rare earth mine in the United States sends all of their valuable resources to China for processing. Congress does not know this. They think this [mining] company is supplying the U.S. value chain, [and] is supplying the military. It is in-fact, the opposite. They are part of the Chinese monopoly. They're taking powder and shipping it to China, and it comes back as a magnet, or an alloy, or a bolt-on component." - Jim Kennedy

Two reasons Palin may win on appeal. First, the Judge appears to contradict himself on a critical issue of law. Second, the Judge appears to engage in weighing the evidence, rather than interpreting the evidence in every means favorable to Palin, often denying her the benefit of the doubt while repeatedly extending it to The New York Times, the behemoth newspaper who could do a lot more damage to a judge’s reputation than public figure Palin. (Fair, or unfair, more than a few counsel believe the New York Times enjoys an unfair advantage in its backyard because of its power...
