My friends Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson would also take a dim view. We have castle doctrine now in Wisc. With two against one, disparity of force is not a factor until one of them is down.
For all except muzzleloaders, it’s Hoppe’s for the bore and Breakfree CLP. Caution: When using any copper solvents like Hoppe’s on a chromed bore, be sure to get ALL the solvent out. Most chromed barrels have a copper layer under the chrome (part of the chroming process). Any imperfection in the chrome will let the solvent get at the copper if given enough time. It’ll ruin a bore and your day.
For muzzleloaders, I use a homemade mix of equal parts isopropyl alcohol and blue juice (windshield washer fluid). Cuts the crud better and dries a whole lot faster than water-based solvents (or spit, but sometimes that’s all that’s available )
They can be awful or great. There are so many different flavors, and best part is you “roll your own”. You can buy preloaded cartridges, but it's cheaper and better to load your own with whatever flavor ejuice you like. The trick is to find one you like. I started with the sampler at Halo. I like Tribecca and that's one their most popular, but your mileage may vary. I bought the G6 kit and it works great for me.
