Similar story. Graduated in 1971 with $6k and $66.24 per month payment for 10 years. But with an MS in Aero Eng I had a great job. Mrs Poster eventually ended up a Prop Casualty underwriter and we are well suited. You make your own future.

YES! You borrowed money for a studies degree and you deserve your fate. STEM ans accounting and maybe biz mgmt will likely yield a career. Russian fingerpainting and lesbian studies probably not.
I would say, okay kids, the real world does NOT work like I think you think it does. You are no longer snowflakes who will be coddled and appeased. The real world expects performance. Your performance will be evaluated at least once a year. And your feelings will NOT be a factor.
I’m an engineer and love numbers. Ever spring I use a spreadsheet I’ve devised over the years to estimate taxes. It is accurate to a few hundreds of $$$. I guess maybe some might not be able to go through this process, but that is not my fault. The changes in SALT deductions are easily incorporated, so if people are being surprised by big bills, it is your fault for being passive.
Don’t really mean to reply to you, but ..How do these animals take their kids on such a journey? She certainly got better care at our border than anywhere along the trip from wherever. Sorry, you out your kid at risk and lost. No sympathy from this American.
