With his political career over with this term in the Senate, Minority Leader Harry Reid is plumbing new depths of political depravity. Having entered political life poor, thanks to strategic land purchases and other insider deals, he is now a wealthy man. But also a man with a reputation for political lies of the most heinous sort, especially his repeated claims that Mitt Romney paid no taxes, a complete lie. But now he has extended his degeneracy to the gold star mother Patti Smith, mother of Benghazi hero Sean Smith.

Transient stabbed in fight over PBJ sandwich SAN DIEGO — One downtown transient stabbed another in the head in a fight over a peanut butter and jelly sandwich Friday, San Diego police said. The two men fought over the sandwich on Union Street near A Street about 6:30 p.m., police Officer David Stafford said. One of the men pulled out a pen and stabbed the other man in the head. Paramedics took the victim to a hospital, where he is expected to recover. The other man went to jail, Stafford said.

PHILADELPHIA - Two teenagers taunted a man rummaging through a trash bin and then killed him after he bared his buttocks at them, police said Tuesday. The arrests of Las Vegas residents Zachary Bubeck, 24, and Ryan Edward McPherson, 19, followed a three-month probe by the La Mesa Police Department into the "Bumfights" tapes, Lt. Raul Garcia said.
