When manager Buck Showalter found out that slain New York police officer Brian Moore was an Orioles fan, he immediately wanted to do something for Moore's family.. The Mets already had planned to hold a moment of silence before Tuesday's interleague game against the Orioles at Citi Field to honor Moore, a 25-year-old officer who was shot in the head Saturday in Queens, N.Y., and died Monday.
