Donald Trump’s sweeping victories Tuesday night move the Manhattan billionaire a step closer to winning the Republican nomination for president and to pulling off the most improbable political feat in modern American history. But Trump’s story is about more than a first-time candidate’s stunning rise. It is also about the humiliating defeat suffered by an increasingly isolated political and media class who still do not understand the causes and scope of Trump’s populist revolt. In his book “Coming Apart: The State of White America, 1960-2010,” Charles Murray wrote about the rise of a new American upper class and the “narrow...

As we predicted on April 2nd…. As of today, April 26, 2016, Ted Cruz is mathematically eliminated from winning the Republican nomination outright. On April 2nd we predicted that Donald Trump would have 953 delegates as of today (needing only 284 delegates for the nomination) and that Cruz would have 550 delegates as of today (needing 687 to win the nomination). We also predicted that only 634 delegates would remain and therefore Cruz would need more delegates than would be available. Ted Cruz is eliminated. It is clear that Cruz was eliminated tonight. After winning all five primaries tonight —...

Donald Trump has been projected as the winner of the Republican presidential primaries in Pennsylvania and Connecticut, victories that continued the New York real estate mogul’s dominance in contests along the East Coast. Those projections were made by Edison Research as polls closed at 8 p.m., and they relied on exit polls. In Maryland, the Associated Press projected Trump and Hillary Clinton as winners, even though a few polling places in West Baltimore will remain open until 9 p.m.

US unions plan attack on Donald Trump in attempt to derail presidential bid Concerned labor group leaders are organizing ad campaigns and phone banks as Trump’s populist message on trade and jobs draws in union voters The prospect of a Donald Trump nomination has labor leaders scrambling to hold the line as the Republican frontrunner’s appeal to disaffected working-class voters threatens to upset the traditional political calculus. The majority of America’s almost 15 million unionized workers can be usually be relied upon to back the Democratic candidate in a presidential year, but leaders are concerned by Trump’s populist message on...

But have faith, my FRiends. We will unite behind our candidate emerging from this nasty primary fight and we will march on to defeat the godless American-hating Marxist Democrats in November. Not doing so would mean surrendering our freedom forevermore to the forces of evil. This will not happen on our watch!! Less than one year left until our current long national nightmare is over!! NBC News ^ | APR 26 2016 | HANNAH HARTIG, JOHN LAPINSKI and STEPHANIE PSYLLOS
Donald Trump has reached 50 percent support from Republicans and Republican-leaners nationally for the first time since the beginning of the NBC News|SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking Poll in late December. This milestone is significant as the 2016 primary heads into its final few weeks of contests, as there has been intense speculation that Trump's support has a ceiling. Though his support has hovered in the high 40s since mid-March, the front-runner had yet to secure half of Republican voters. These results are according to the latest NBC News|SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking poll conducted online from April 18 to April 24...

The chairwoman of the Boulder County GOP has admitted that grave errors affected the Colorado Republican caucus, in which Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% won a clean sweep of 34 delegates without opening up the process to voting by everyday citizens. Breitbart News has obtained an email that Boulder County GOP chairwoman Peg Cage sent to other top Republican officials in Colorado, including to other party chairs, describing the errors in the process that led to “the perception of fraud.” Reached for comment on the email, Cage said that the caucus might have to be done over.

Reuters data from April 22 finds that only about 40.9 percent of 1,753 respondents say "people should use public restrooms according to the gender which they identify." Meanwhile, about 45 percent of respondents said "people should use public restrooms according to their biological sex."The April 22 results represent an approximate 10 percentage-point increase in the number of people who believe everyone should use restrooms designated for their biological sex in just nine days. According to results obtained by Reuters on April 13, only about 35 percent of 331 respondents felt people should use bathrooms designated for their biological sex, while...

Ted Cruz's presidential campaign has a short list of potential vice presidential picks that includes former rival Carly Fiorina, campaign aides announced Monday. Cruz's campaign manager tweeted that they "have narrowed our VP candidates to a short list and are going thru the normal processes associated with picking a running mate." A top aide to Fiorina confirmed to NBC News that the former Hewlett-Packard CEO who endorsed Cruz earlier this year was on the list. The vice presidential candidate selection process has typically been a secretive one in modern presidential politics. Candidates generally shy away from talking publicly about the...

Republican presidential candidate John Kasich on Monday said that Indiana’s voters should still back him, despite an alliance with Ted Cruz to clear the way for his presidential rival in the state's Republican primary. “I’ve never told them not to vote for me,” he said at a diner in Philadelphia. "They ought to vote for me. “I’m not out there campaigning and spending resources,” Kasich added. "I’m not going to spend resources in Indiana. [Cruz is] not going to spend resources in other places. “So what? What’s the big deal? What’s wrong with that? I’m not campaigning in Indiana, and...

The 2016 presidential election is on the top of most Americans’ minds, according to the latest George Washington University Battleground Poll. Despite, or perhaps because of, the high level of engagement, voters have negative views of almost all major candidates, and report the tone of the race is wearing on them. The bipartisan GW Battleground Poll, conducted in partnership with The Tarrance Group and Lake Research Partners, asked likely voters how closely they’ve followed the presidential campaign over the last year. Eighty-nine percent reported they’ve followed the race either “very” or “somewhat” closely. More than half (52 percent) of respondents...

hings aren’t nearly so competitive on the Republican side, with Donald Trump getting a majority of voters in each state. He’s strongest in Rhode Island where he gets 61% to 23% for John Kasich, and 13% for Ted Cruz. The numbers are very similar in Connecticut with Trump getting 59% to 25% for Kasich, and 13% for Cruz. Things are a little bit different in Pennsylvania where Trump’s share of the vote isn’t as high (51%) and Cruz edges out Kasich 25/22 for second place. None of these states are particularly amenable to the ‘Never Trump’ movement. Trump has the...

Senator Cruz has done very poorly and after his New York performance, which was a total disaster, he is in free fall and as everyone has seen, he does not react well under pressure. Also, approximately 80% of the Republican Party is against him. Governor Kasich, who has only won 1 state out of 41, in other words, he is 1 for 41 and he is not even doing as well as other candidates who could have stubbornly stayed in the race like him but chose not to do so. Marco Rubio, as an example, has more delegates than Kasich and yet suspended his campaign one month ago. Others, likewise, have done much better than Kasich, who would get slaughtered by Hillary Clinton once the negative ads against him begin. 85% of Republican voters are against Kasich.
