The Supreme Court Monday rebuffed efforts by states to block funding to Planned Parenthood. It left in place two lower court opinions that said that states violate federal law when they terminate Medicaid contracts with Planned Parenthood affiliates who offer preventive care for low income women. A federal appeals court announced Friday that it would hold a closed oral argument session on Dec. 14, to address a lawsuit apparently filed against Special Counsel Robert Mueller by an unidentified grand jury witness. Much of the detail in the case remains under seal, and there has been intense speculation in the legal and political communities over the identity of the mystery appellant. ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A 6.6 magnitude earthquake has rocked buildings in Anchorage, prompting people to run out of offices and seek shelter under office desks. The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake was centered about 7 miles north of Alaska's largest city. Officials issue tsunami warning for coastal areas of southern Alaska after earthquake. The FBI raided the home of a whistleblower who was in possession of documents regarding the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One, according to the whistleblower’s lawyer, Michael Socarras. The whistleblower, Dennis Nathan Cain, had turned the documents over to the Department of Justice’s inspector general and both the House and Senate Intelligence committees, according to the lawyer. The FBI rummaged through Cain’s home for six hours, even after the whistleblower handed over the documents, according to Socarras.

Former FBI Director James Comey is challenging a subpoena from House Republicans for his closed-door testimony in federal court. Court records show that Comey filed a motion in federal court in Washington, D.C., on Thursday to quash a subpoena from the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees for his testimony on Dec. 3.
