A construction crew in Boston stumbled upon an "incredibly rare" find beneath the city's street: a 19th-century shipwreck. "Nothing like this has been found in Boston, in filled-in ground, before," City of Boston archeologist Joe Bagley said. "This is incredibly rare and incredibly amazing." The ship is a wooden sloop that's at least 50 feet long, according to CBS News, dating to the mid-to-late 1800s. It was discovered last week about 25 feet below grade during construction on a new office building. But Bagley, according to the Boston Globe, said the ship could be even older.

BRIDGEWATER (CBS) – An inmate at a Bridgewater prison is being charged with threatening to kill President Barack Obama in a “lone-wolf style” attack. Prosecutors say 31-year-old Alex Hernandez of Worcester was charged in U.S. District Court in Boston on two counts of threatening to kill and inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States.

Four Massachusetts teens who say they were sick of watching the state drag its feet on global warming went to court — and yesterday came away with a historic victory that could have lasting effects for decades. The Supreme Judicial Court has sided with Olivia Gieger and Shamus Miller of Wellesley High School, and Isabel Kain and James Coakley of Boston Latin School — high school kids who sued the Department of Environmental Protection. During a Saturday news conference, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said 76-year-old Vibeke Rasmussen, a Quincy College professor, died after she was stabbed more than 35 times in her apartment Thursday night. Plymouth police were called to Tideview Path around 1 p.m. to check on Rasmussen. When no one answered, officers gained access to her apartment where they found her body. Investigators say neighbors heard a woman screaming in the area of her apartment. Police identified 24-year-old Tyler Hagmaier as the suspect in Rasmussen’s death. Less than 24 hours after Boston City Hall raised a flag in solidarity with the transgender community for the first time, a Polish flag was seen flying in its place. At a flag raising ceremony Monday, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said that he was proud to fly the flag for the first time in state history, and that the city would continue to do so until all people were deemed equal under Massachusetts law.
