Reporting from Minneapolis, CNN reporter Sara Snider said the protesters owned the streets while wading through what appeared to be hundreds of protesters lighting buildings ablaze in the downtown area. "We are an hour and 12 minutes past curfew and, right now, the protesters rule the streets," Snider said. "The National Guard, nowhere to be seen, the state police, nowhere to be seen, the local police, nowhere to be seen, the sheriff's department, nowhere to be seen. The protesters are the ones that feel like these streets are their streets."

'Two Federal Protective Services officers stationed at the Oakland Downtown Federal Building suffered gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, one succumbed to his injury,' the police department told CNN. Meanwhile, a 19-year-old protester was shot dead in Detroit last night, while soldiers in North Carolina and in New York were ordered to be ready to move in within four hours and troops in Colorado and Kansas within 24 hours. . . . Overnight, Trump also commented on a tweet by Former Democrats for Trump about how Minneapolis was ruled by Democrats, saying: 'Time for a change! #2020', which was retweeted more than 25,000...

Breonna Taylor’s death brought together hundreds of protesters in downtown Louisville on Thursday night to demand justice for Taylor, the unarmed African American woman who was shot and killed by Louisville Metro Police officers in March. The protest started out peacefully before turning violent, with at least seven people shot and wounded by an unknown assailant or assailants. Police officers at the protest did not fire their guns, according to LMPD. One person who was shot is in “critical” condition, police said. According to a statement from Mayor Greg Fischer early Friday morning, two victims were sent to surgery. All...

The mayor of Minneapolis told individuals protesting that their anger is “understandable” and “right" but urged them to make sure they are wearing masks and practicing social distancing during their demonstrations. “The City encourages everyone to exercise caution to stay safe while participating in demonstrations, including wearing masks and physical distancing as much as possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey’s office wrote in a statement addressed to individuals who took to the streets following the death of George Floyd while in police custody. “The City has made hundreds of masks available to protesters this week.”...

The Religion of Immoralism By MAX EASTMAN The notion of Karl Marx as a noble brooder over man's hopes is dispelled in this account of his invention and philosophic justification of the ruthless methods of modern Communism. With Stalin gone it has become necessary to find a new focus for our hostility to the unscrupulous and inhuman behavior of the Communists. I wish it might be focused on the real cause of the trouble: Marxism. Much force of argument is wasted among Western intellectuals through a wish to exempt Marx from responsibility for this return to barbarism. Realpolitik in the evil...

One of the understandable results of massive business closures, layoffs, and tens of millions unemployed because of the coronavirus pandemic has been that a lot of people canÂ’t pay rent. Hence the rent strike movement now gaining momentum in large cities nationwide. The idea is that instead of just not paying your rent because you got laid off, you organize with other tenants in your building or neighborhood and collectively refuse to pay rent, forcing your landlord to negotiate a rent freeze or some other form of relief. If thatÂ’s all there were to rent strikes, thatÂ’d be understandable. Millions of...

The powers that be at CNN were in full outrage mode yesterday after Republican Sen. Martha McSally called Manu Raju, one of their congressional correspondents, a “liberal hack,” and refused to answer his questions. After the incident, much of the minimal airtime left over from trashing Donald Trump all day was expended in defense of Raju and the network, which they clearly feel, has been unfairly besmirched. I’ve got two words for them: toughen up. A statement from their PR department said, “It is extremely unbecoming for a U.S. Senator to sink to this level and treat a member of...

A group known as The Climate Mobilization, which has called for a World War II-style mobilization to combat “climate change” and is aligned with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Bernie Sanders, is criticizing American media outlets for allowing “climate deniers” to express their views. As such, the group wants media to ban them in an effort to silence all opposition to “climate change” rhetoric. “Some media outlets are sacrificing the future of our planet for the sake of appearing objective,” Margaret Klein Salamon, founder and executive director of The Climate Mobilization, said in a news release Saturday. “This idea...

A columnist at Teen Vogue has been dumped from her position as a contributor at NPR over her ties to Antifa, the loosely-affiliated gang of thugs known for domestic terrorism. “I’ve been contributing to [NPR Music] since 2011, but was just told they don’t want me to contribute anymore because my ‘activist stance’ ‘conflicts’ with their journalistic ethics,” Kim Kelly said on Twitter. “My ‘activist stance’ can be boiled down to a very simple political worldview: ‘Up, up, up with the workers! Down, down, down with the Nazis!’ Seems pretty reasonable to me.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) issued a stern warning to Democrats in a closed-door caucus meeting Wednesday, rebuking members for airing the party’s dirty laundry on Twitter.

Mere hours after I submitted my last column arguing that Robert Mueller must be called to testify, Rachel Maddow took to the air to make the exact counter-case that I outlined and refuted in my column. No surprises there. We predicted it.The past few days of news coverage have confirmed that the corporate leftist media and the Democrats are hellbent on uncritically warping every fact and statement to support their effort to forcibly remove a democratically elected president and to demonize anyone who may stand in their way. Reality be damned. In a civil society, citizens may be entitled to their opinions but not to their own...

Russian state deputies have again raised the issue of renaming Sverdlovsk Province, which is currently named in honor of Yakov Sverdlov, who played an important role in planning the October Revolution and is widely believed to have participated in the slaying of the Royal Martyrs on July 17, 1918. The proposal came during a closed meeting of provincial Governor Evgeny Kuyvashev with the federal parliamentary deputies from the region on the preparations for the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Ekaterinburg, reports URA.RU. “In his speech, Pavel Vladimirovich [Krasheninnikov],” the head of the Committee for State Construction and Legislation, “among...

The majority of individuals and groups targeted in House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler’s sweeping request for documents as part of an expansive Trump probe have missed the Nadler-imposed deadline to respond, Fox News has learned, raising questions about whether the chairman is facing his own "resistance." Though the powerful Democratic committee chairman touted the responses he’s gotten in a press release and cable news interview this week, GOP committee sources told Fox News that just eight of the 81 agencies, entities and individuals that were sent requests actually met the Monday deadline. The requests came as part of Nadler's...

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler came under fire over a viral video showing Antifa protesters blocking traffic and harassing drivers, but he says he supports the decision by police to watch from a distance without getting involved. “I was appalled by what I saw in the video, but I support the Portland Police Bureau’s decision not to intervene,” he said at a Friday press conference. “This whole incident will be investigated.” The video posted by journalist Andy C. Ngo showed protesters, including members of Antifa and Black Lives Matter, blocking an intersection and attempting to direct traffic at while officers on...

Talk about a Freudian slip, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez, with a slip of the tongue, voiced what anyone paying attention already knows, that being that there are no moderate Democrats left. Doing what Democrats do best, projecting and flipping the narrative, the head of the party who called un accomplished democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez its “future,” appeared on MSNBC to suggest the GOP is the party of extremists — except his tongue couldn’t keep up with his deceptive mind. “When you see the mistreatment of Dr. Ford, that’s a mistreatment of every woman across America,” Perez declared. “When...

An Antifa activist compared the Immigration and Customs Enforcement to the Gestapo and called for the slaughter of “the fascistic Border Patrol dogs and their bosses.” In an article published on Thursday on the far-left website Incendiary News, Antifa activist Ulrike Salazar compared ICE officers to “shadowy Gestapo agents” who “take away young boys and girls, tear apart families, throw away undesirables into dark and cramped dungeons.” The comments come as the agency continues to receive criticism in the aftermath of the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy. The policy resulted in thousands of families being forcibly separated at the...

The left’s smear tactics have come on full display during the surfeit of attacks on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Whether you support or oppose this SCOTUS nomination, the tactics being used are more extreme even than during the Clarence Thomas hearings. But as we know, they are nothing new, and Democrats will continue to use them until the American people scream “Enough!” — because they are effective. The real goal is psychological terrorism—that is, engaging in a scorched-earth effort to destroy the target, and in so doing intimidating anyone willing to enter public service, or even just support a...

Dinesh D'Souza: 'The weapons of the state are used against political opponents' Conservative author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza contends American politics are at their most combustible since just before the Civil War, and he says President Trump must lead the effort to destroy “plantation politics” and end the practice of using the power of government to punish political enemies. D’Souza latest film, “Death of A Nation,” which opens Aug. 3, contends one of the greatest dangers Americans now face is the Democrats’ weaponization of government to exact political punishment on their enemies. He believes that’s the reason for the increased...
