As an avid shooter, I’ve had the pleasure (or displeasure) of shooting at a wide variety of ranges throughout the country. Suffice it to say, the operations and rules vary greatly from one range to the next. They range from “Hold my beer while I shoot” type establishments to places with a rules manual as thick as a New York City phone book. As with most places that are more “rule-intensive,” the most likely reason they have so many regulations is because of a phenomenon that I refer to as the LCD factor. LCD stands for lowest common denominator. -You...

In days of yore, I might have pointed my doubters – usually women and seniors – toward a SIG P238, a Walther PK 380 or, more recently, a Glock 42. But each of those came with caveats related either to cost (SIGs are pricey), functionality (Walthers are a pain to break down) or useability (for better or worse, beginners are skittish about Glock’s lack of a manual external safety – thankfully, most of them eventually get over that!). Now, however, I smile slyly and trot out Smith & Wesson’s most recent contribution to the concealed carry market – the M&P...

Having a 12 gauge shotgun should be on your list for home defense. However, for shooters that are not well versed or are timid with the 12 gauge notorious recoil. That kick can intimidate many gun enthusiasts. There are some ways to managing this recoil. The first is coined "hardware" which means modifying the gun or using a special accessories design to reduce the recoil. The second is using sound technique-based means utilizing good techniques while holding and shooting the 12 gauge shotgun. Hardware Solutions One of the the first “hardware” of the many ways to reduce the recoil to...

President Trump’s Supreme Court pick Judge Brett Kavanaugh testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday morning. Democrats and screaming protesters interrupted the hearing for the first half hour. Judge Kavanaugh has not even been sworn in yet! It was all planned. Democrats plotted the coordinated protest over the holiday weekend. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) led a phone call and Committee members are executing now, reported NBC’s Kasie Hunt.

During the senate confirmation hearing today the full antics of the Democrat political apparatus were on display. One of their choreographed and manufactured moments happened when a man named Fred Guttenberg was staged to shake the hand of Judge Kavanaugh during one of the recess breaks. SEE VIDEO: Fred Guttenberg is one of the parents from the February Parkland High School shooting, a Democrat and a gun control proponent. Judge Brett Kavanaugh, like most of America, had no idea who the guy was who was trying to grab him. It was an entirely staged event put on by Senator Dianne...

Facebook is gearing up for the upcoming midterm elections by building a physical “war room” in order to fight off “bad actors” who wish to influence voters. Facebook’s head of civic engagement, Samidh Chakrabarti, told NBC in an interview published Tuesday that the company was in a better place than it was in 2016 in regards to fighting “misinformation” and “fake news.” “I think we are in a much better place than we were in 2016. But it is an arms race. And so that’s why we’re remaining ever vigilant, laser-focused to make sure that we can stay ahead of...

Billionaire globalist George Soros is planning to eliminate the majority of Trump supporters from social media before the 2020 election, according to a leaked document. The 49 page document outlines plans by Soros to exert his influence, via his immense personal wealth, to pressure Big Tech to censor and purge pro-Trump journalists, citizens and outlets ahead of the next Presidential election. "A confidential, 49-page memo for defeating Trump by working with the major social-media platforms to eliminate "right wing propaganda and fake news" was presented in January 2017 by Media Matters founder David Brock at a retreat in Florida with...

If you can give up a small perceived ballistic advantage and in exchange, get the ability shoot the gun better, that's a worthwhile trade-off. But even so, I don’t usually recommend a 20 gauge shotgun over a 12 gauge for home defense. And not because it isn't powerful enough. It has a lot more to do with the lack of industry support for the 20 gauge. The shotguns you can buy today that are set up for self-defense are almost all based on shotguns used by law enforcement and the military. For the last century or more, almost 100% of...

Today brings a rare but welcome recognition of reality by Joe Scarborough. On Morning Joe, Scarborough said: “The Democratic party’s darting left . . . And I think you’re going to see the press embracing a lot of these candidates on the far left.” Joe being Joe, he had to balance that with a shot at the president, adding, “you’re going to have Donald Trump race-baiting all the way to the fall.”Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

The iconic .44 Magnum cartridge will keep on trucking for a long time. As time passes this cartridge just gets better and better like the Eveready battery. The .44 Magnum was created when the late Elmer Keith needed more power from a revolver. With a load thats super hot, this cartridge can take down most big-game animal in the U.S. With the advancements in technology, as the big-bore cartridge gets bigger, the .44 Magnum still holds its own as the caliber to go to for hunting. Here are some reasons why the .44 Magnum is a great ammo. Knockdown Power...

Loads of Fun! If you’re a Kel-Tec fan and you like to plink, you should have a look at the Kel-Tec PMR-30. Not a new gun, its been around since 2010, but its an ideal pistol for hiking, camping or just toss it into your tackle box. This gun is a .22 caliber and most are usually in a revolver type. Kel-Tec PMR-30 is a full-size pistol chambered in .22 WMR. Full-size, however, its just a term that the gun industry coined. Talks about which is the better caliber between the 9mm and 40 caliber for self-defense is an on-going thing In the past the conventional wisdom has held that a typical handgun velocities, bigger bullets are better. Its always best to view both of these rounds (9mm vs 40 cal pistol rounds) objectively. Many LE agencies across the U.S. are following the FBI suit when they switched to the 9mm. Even though not used by the FBI, the .40 cartridge still thrivea and will continue for many years to come. .40 S&W Background First came out in 1990, the .40 S&W...

There were actually many gun inventors/designers of the past. However, only some stood out because of their forward thinking, which propelled them to the top to be remembered in our firearms history. These inventors didn’t just think of creating something that went kaboom, even though that was the fun part. They usually created a firearm to make it better than an existing one. Obviously, when it came to war firearms was used as a better way to fight for territory. Firearms quickly replaced all other weapons of war once the idea became reality. Looking at the progression of bettering the...

Strange that this misfiled recording of a Vietnamese propaganda broadcast monitored and recorded by the CIA has just surfaced. McCain got away with Keating 5 and self defined himself as a hero for his Vietnam service saying they never broke him. Of Course he denied he was as some of his fellow POW's called him the "Songbird".
