“It wasn’t the Republican votes against House Speaker John Boehner that truly rattled the GOP leadership, it was the phone calls,” Ferrechio wrote. “There were hundreds of them, jamming the phone lines of the district and Capitol offices of dozens of House GOP lawmakers. The callers were not angry about legislation. Nor were they asking for help with a local matter. They were demanding their representative vote against Boehner Tuesday in his bid to win election to a third term as speaker.” Statements from several members who voted for Boehner after the fact indicated just how rattled they were. “Over...
  • Govt Broke by Sept 30: Funding ObamaCare in Spotlight - Why House Excuses for Funding Are Bogus

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) is saying the House WILL fund the government, in yet another vote needed to support the swayed-back of Obama administration spending.  We are out of money again on September 30th. When Boehner was asked if ObamaCare will be defunded in the next Continuing Resolution, he coyly answered: "our goal would be to make sure the government is funded." Many are taking that answer as yes, we will continue to fund ObamaCare. We have no budget. The unconstitutional spending will continue through a Continuing Resolution (CR). See why there is plenty of precedent for not funding this...

When asked whether the House Republicans would permit or not permit funding for Obamacare in whatever legislation is enacted to fund the government after Sept. 30--when the current funding legislation runs out--House Speaker John Boehner responded that "our goal would be to make sure the government is funded," thus indicating that House Republicans do plan to fund implementation of Obamacare past Sept. 30. Unless a special provision is put into the bill to fund the government past Sept. 30 that expressly prohibits funding specifically for the Obamacare regulation that requires health-care plans to cover, without cost-sharing, sterilizations, artificial contraceptives and...

House Speaker John Boehner said Tuesday that despite a toxic political climate in Washington and his deep ideological differences with President Barack Obama, the two "have a good personal relationship," even as he criticized the president's health-care plan and stewardship of the economy. The Ohio Republican also opened up about the GOP presidential field during an interview with TODAY’s Matt Lauer. “I’ve got a big job to do here in the Capitol,” he acknowledged. “Voters around the country who choose to vote in Republican primaries will pick one of these candidates. And whoever that candidate is, I will support.”

Statement by Speaker Boehner on Debt Limit DiscussionsHouse Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) released the following statement today regarding ongoing debt limit discussions with the White House: "Despite good-faith efforts to find common ground, the White House will not pursue a bigger debt reduction agreement without tax hikes. I believe the best approach may be to focus on producing a smaller measure, based on the cuts identified in the Biden-led negotiations, that still meets our call for spending reforms and cuts greater than the amount of any debt limit increase." Zero Hedge translation: in two weeks we get news of no...
  • Open Question: Will we ever wrest control from the establishment Boehner/Rove/Romney RINO wing?

Only 59 of the 240+ House Republicans voted against this deal. It seems we have a long way to go. Boehner, whose staff will hang up on you if you call and ask him to take a stand against Obamacare, did get almost 80 democrats to vote for it though. What does that tell you?
