A second female teacher has been accused of molesting a male student, Kern County Superior Court records show. Jennifer Lynn Sanchez, 31, a mathematics teacher at Buena Vista Continuation High School in Taft, was charged on Dec. 22 with four counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old student, and one count each of oral copulation and sodomy with the same student. She has resigned from her teaching job, school officials said Thursday. Today is a no-burn day in most of Kern County, and local air pollution control inspectors are using high tech gadgets to seek out violators -- a method some say is against the law because it amounts to an illegal searches of people's homes. The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District is using six new infrared heat detectors, called non-contact infrared thermometers, to catch people burning wood in their fireplaces on designated no-burn days. Barbara Boxer joined a chorus of calls to the Federal Trade Commission and California Attorney General Bill Lockyer to prevent the closure.
