Howard Stern says the end of his career is closer than the two years left on his contract. "I know that it's over for me," Stern said Wednesday morning. "I have been really good at predicting my career and I know when I'm outmatched. It's over for me as a broadcaster. I'm checkmated. All they gotta do is fine us and then we're gone. And there's nothing we can do about it."But even with comments like that, Stern is not going down without a fight. For the past two days the syndicated morning man has been attacking those he feels are his oppressors - Clear Channel, the...

(CNSNews.com) - It took only a week for shock jock Howard Stern to break Infinity Radio's new "zero tolerance" policy for indecent broadcasting, conservative critics said. On Tuesday, Feb. 24, Stern spent "nearly one hour of his show discussing explicit sexual activities between Rick Solomon and Paris Hilton," the American Family Association alleged. In a statement, AFA said it would ask its members to begin filing official indecency complaints against Infinity-owned stations if Viacom President Mel Karmazin doesn't immediately fire Howard Stern. Stern's show is syndicated by Infinity Broadcasting, which is owned by Viacom. Viacom also owns CBS and MTV....

"Bubba the Love Sponge" is gone and radio shock Howard Stern is on hiatus from some stations. TV networks are time-delaying certain shows to make sure inappropriate material doesn't make it onto the airwaves. Broadcast executives cited these and other examples Thursday as evidence they are taking heed of the government's call to clean up the airwaves. "We at Fox have heard your concerns loud and clear," said Gail Berman, the network's president of entertainment. "We sincerely regret that a few incidents of inappropriate programming have overshadowed the good shows we proudly air on Fox each week." It was the...

(AP) — A man pretending to be infamous Cubs fan Steve Bartman tricked ESPN into putting him on the air for a live phone interview Thursday. The prank, on the 6 p.m. edition of "SportsCenter," was discovered shortly into the interview when the man referred to radio shock jock Howard Stern. The interview was stopped, and anchor Dan Patrick said, "We've been had. That was not Steve Bartman." "We made a mistake," ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said. "We have a process in place to prevent these type of...

Don't know if this was already posted but, in case you missed it .... Dan Rather took over the coverage of the disaster around 11am. In the early stages of his coverage, someone from Texas called in to confirm debris in his front yard. Dan thanked the caller. The caller responded: "Thank you, Mr Rather, for taking my call." Rather: "Call me Dan". Caller: "Okay Dan". Rather: "Caller, please describe the debris." Caller: "Dan, a large crowd has gathered to view this." Rather: "What is it?" Caller: "I believe it's an astronaut's tooth". Rather: "A what?" Caller: "You're an idiot!"...

The makers of "Bumfights: Cause for Concern, Volume 1," claim to have sold over 100,000 copies at $19.95 since Stern featured the disturbing amateur flick last week. "Bumfights" lowlights include footage of a derelict being pushed down cement stairs in...
