Tuesday morning the Associated Press fired of a tweet mocking Congress over its support of Israel. "As much of the world watched Gaza war in horror, members of Congress fall over each other to support Israel."

“I was horrified,” said John Stemberger, chairman of the board of Trail Life USA, a new, rapidly-growing scouting organization that doesn’t allow openly gay members.

Stemberger was referring to an Associated Press photograph that accompanied an in-depth story about Trail Life. The image showed a group of young boys gathered in a circle with their hands raised at an unusual angle. The AP’s original caption on the photo said they were reciting the organization’s “creed” during a meeting in North Richland Hills, Texas.

During his Wednesday appearance on Jay Leno's "Tonight Show,' President Obama made three factual gaffes; one of them involved the claim that cities not found along the Gulf of Mexico are. Were Obama a Republican, these gaffes would have led news coverage for the next forty-eight hours. Not only did most of the media ignore or downplay these gaffes; the Associated Press went so far as to cover one of them up.

After George Zimmerman was found not guilty of all charges on Saturday evening, an Associated Press reporter, Cristina Silva, tweeted this out from her verified twitter account: "So we can all kill teenagers now? Just checking."

When last seen at NewsBusters in February, the Associated Press's Liz Sidoti was talking down to the public about its "collective obsession with the trivial" less than a week after AP reporter Ken Thomas wasted 500 words of print and bandwidth on how Florida Sen. Marco Rubio took a sip of water during a speech. Now Sidoti, who is the AP's National Political Editor, is quite worried -- actually, obsessed -- that the public might waking up and contrasting what President Barack Obama is delivering compared to what he has promised at a most inopportune time, and that "controversies" might...

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange feels vindicated at the moment that his source, Bradley Manning, goes on trial for handing over hundreds of thousands of pages of sensitive material. The US government eschewed a plea bargain (and Manning’s guilty plea to lesser charges) in order to try Manning for “aiding the enemy.†The prosecution made its opening argument yesterday: In an hour-long opening statement for the prosecution on Monday, Captain Joe Morrow told the court martial that the US army private had been motivated by a craving for “notoriety†that had led him to disregard his extensive training and to...

The Executive Branch is out of control. As Ralph Nader points out, the Obama Administration has been serving as judge, jury, and executioner, even against some U.S. citizens.Obama’s drone policy is of dubious legality, as is the continued practice of kidnapping and imprisoning people indefinitely. He waged his war against Libya without Congressional approval. And now his Administration is overreaching domestically, though it’s unclear how much of this is with his knowledge or green light. The IRS’s witch-hunt of right wing and Tea Party groups is “outrageous,” as Obama himself properly noted. He should fire the person or people responsible. That’s what...

The Justice Department’s secret subpoena for AP phone records included the seizure of records for five reporters' cellphones and three home phones as well as two fax lines, a lawyer for the news organization tells NBC News. David Schulz, the chief lawyer for the AP, said the subpoenas also covered the records for 21 phone lines in five AP office lines -- including one for a dead phone line at office in Washington that had been shut down six years ago. The phone lines at four other offices – where 100 reporters worked — were also covered by the subpoenas,...

I mentioned the other day that the Justice Department's secretive snooping on AP reporters was not just a personal violation of privacy, but in fact a threat to their ability to do their jobs and a threat to everyone's ability to report on the Obama administration. Gary Pruitt, AP's CEO confirmed on CBS Face the Nation Sunday that in fact, his organization is already finding government sources are more reluctant to talk to them now because of what happened.

Politico reported earlier today that Washington DC has begun to turn against Barack Obama and his administration. Thanks to Obama’s own arrogance, write Mike Allen and Jim VandeHei, he has little good will inside the Beltway anyway, and that leaves him with few passionate defenders in the latest scandal cascade: The town is turning on President Obama — and this is very bad news for this White House.Republicans have waited five years for the moment to put the screws to Obama — and they have one-third of all congressional committees on the case now. Establishment Democrats, never big fans of...

Today at a Department Of Justice press conference Attorney General Eric Holder said he has no problem without letting the Associate Press answer the charges of a leak endangering national security.
-
Eric Holder just ended a press conference. As previously reported by Fox News: Attorney General Eric Holder is recusing himself from the investigation into leaks made to The Associated Press, Fox News has learned. Also, as CNN reported, Holder previously had recused himself from consideration of issuance of the subpoenas: Attorney General Eric Holder recused himself from the decision to subpoena the phone records of Associated Press reporters, a source told CNN’s Jessica Yellin on Tuesday. The approval fell to Deputy Attorney General James Cole, the source said. White House spokesman Jay Carney said Tuesday that the White House had...

The White House on Monday distanced President Obama from the Department of Justice’s seizure of Associated Press telephone records. “Other than press reports, we have no knowledge of any attempt by the Justice Department to seek phone records of the AP,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said in a statement. Carney said the White House had no involvement in the Justice effort. “We are not involved in decisions made in connection with criminal investigations, as those matters are handled independently by the Justice Department,” he said. The Justice Department said in a letter to the AP on Friday that...

The Associated Press is one of the few national news agencies to report on the Kermit Gosnell murder trial, but the oft-criticized news outlet is getting criticism from pro-lifers for “excusing” the actions of his staff. Matt Vespa of Newsbusters noticed how AP is whitewashing their own involvement in infanticides, abortions and brutal practices at Gosnell’s abortion clinic. “When the grand jury report in the Kermit Gosnell trial was released yesterday, one would think that the media would have as the primary takeaway the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s documentation of the numerous atrocities committed in this house of horrors. Yet, for...

The Associated Press announced Tuesday that it will no longer use the term “illegal immigrant.” On NBC’s Tonight Show, host Jay Leno said, “They will now use the phrase ‘undocumented Democrat’” (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary)...

The Associated Press, the largest news-gathering outlet in the world, will no longer use the term "illegal immigrant." The news came in the form of a blog entry authored by Senior Vice President and Executive Editor Kathleen Carroll on Tuesday afternoon, explaining that the decision is part of the company's on-going attempt to rid their Stylebook of labels."The Stylebook no longer sanctions the term 'illegal immigrant' or the use of 'illegal' to describe a person. Instead, it tells users that 'illegal' should describe only an action, such as living in or immigrating to a country illegally," Carroll wrote. The company's...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: This is from the Associated Press, and it actually sounds like they're livid here. The headline of their story: “Romney, GOP Suddenly Plunging on the Democrat Turf.” They're upset that Romney is spending money in Pennsylvania. The AP's upset that Romney is spending money in Wisconsin and Michigan and Minnesota. They're upset. Who does he think he is? Those are our states! That's how this story is written, if you read it. "[Governor] Mitt Romney is suddenly plunging into traditionally Democratic-leaning Minnesota and Pennsylvania, and his GOP allies are trying to put Michigan into play. It's forcing...
