FYI: In the wake of the great Notre Dame fire, the French video game company Ubisoft has decided to make its popular video game Assassin's Creed Unity free through April 25th, allowing gamers to "experience the majesty and beauty of the cathedral." Earlier this week, Ubisoft contributed €500,000, or about $564,775, to the Notre-Dame restoration effort in the wake of a fire that severely damaged the historic cathedral. The publisher also made Assassin’s Creed Unity, which features a recreation of Notre-Dame, free to download on PC for a week. As a result, Steam users have plastered the game’s review section with positive reviews containing messages of support for Notre-Dame. Ubisoft has issued a new patch for Assassin's Creed Odyssey on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The 1.0.5 patch weighs in at 0.16 GB on PS4 and 0.1 GB on Xbox One, and focuses on squashing bugs--including fixing one issue that only appeared after a previous patch. According to the patch notes, it improves stability and fixes an issue that would make the game crash to the dashboard after the release of update v1.0.3. A French left-wing MEP has hit out at the creators of video game Assassin's Creed over their portrayal of Maximilien de Robespierre. A slight artistic liberty from the creators sees the character of Robespierre presented as a psychopathic mass-murderer, which has enraged the French left, Jean-Luc Melenchon claims the depiction of Robespierre, considered by many to have been the architect of the French Revolution, in the latest installation of the game is 'propaganda against the people'.
