The "Central Committee of Conscientious Objectors" is an organization which "supports and promotes individual and collective resistance to war and preparations for war", according to its website. Among the resources available on the website are How-to guides on being AWOL, various reasons for getting out of the military, as well as a list of reasons one should not join the US military. The following picture on its website illustrates the goal of the organization: This organization lists among its sponsors former Democratic congressman Ronald Dellums of California. Actor Ed Asner, a death penalty opponent, appeared on Court TV today to talk about the Stanley "Tookie" Williams case. He said he felt like he was appearing before a lynch mob when he appeared on Fox recently: "...I would be amazed if he did commute. It just strikes me that you know we go through these dog and pony shows all the time. It gives me an opportunity to appear before your cameras and spout and it gives other people a very good platform to spout. I must say that on your program from the guests that you've had...

Last weekend's hatefest in New York City, in which John Kerry endorsed the vicious attack of Hollywood hacks on the Commander-in-Chief, provides a sad portent of things to come. Leftist hate group MoveOn.org announced last week that it has enlisted the help of the Hollywood elite in its partisan campaign to smear the president and stigmatize America’s War on Terror. According to a Time magazine story (“I’m Rob Reiner, and I Approve This Ad”), such Hollywood powerhouses as Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Errol Morris, Rob Reiner, “West Wing” creator Aaron Sorkin, Ed Asner, Danny Glover, Al Franken, the ubiquitous Kevin...

Washington (CNSNews.com) - Former conservative author-turned-liberal activist David Brock, whose new book and website are devoted to denouncing conservative media outlets, says network news personalities have privately praised him and told him, "Thank God you are doing this..." Brock, the author of The Republican Noise Machine: Right-Wing Media and How it Corrupts Democracy, told an audience of several hundred fellow liberal activists about off-the-air exchanges he has had with network news hosts. Brock spoke Thursday in Washington at the "Take Back America" conference, which is billed as a gathering of progressive activists. "In the past few weeks -- as I...

In the news this week are several reports of an exchange between syndicated talk-show host Mike Gallagher and actor-turned-leftist-poster-child Edward Asner. The account goes like this: Mike Gallagher approached Asner at a recent cocktail party promoting the new film "Elf" in which Asner stars as Santa Claus. As Gallagher introduced himself, Asner asked his profession. When Gallagher replied "radio talk-show host," Asner replied, "I love going toe-to-toe with you guys.'' ''I know,'' Gallagher replied. ''I've heard you on Sean Hannity's show.'' ''Hannity's next, you know,'' Asner responded. ''Huh?'' said Gallagher. ''Hannity's next,'' said Asner. ''We're going after him just like...

Ed Asner to play Santa Claus? Is nothing sacred? We need to let Hollywood know this is not acceptable.

Since MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND is the big kickoff to the summer season. I'm requesting that all FREEPERS don't go to a single movie the entire MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND to punish Hollyweird in the pocketbook for their hatred of America. Spread the word, try to get your friends to do other activities. Surely their is better ways to spend our money that give it to people that hate America and want to destroy our way of life.

Ed Asner sees a greater threat from the Bush administration than from the hapless Fidel Castro who is being pushed around unfairly. Defending Harry Belafonte and Danny Glover signing a letter denouncing the U.S. for threatening Cuba, Asner charged on Wednesday's Buchanan & Press on MSNBC that "they may well be put in prison here for...the support they're giving to Castro, the way things are going in this country." Asner insisted that those put to death by Castro, for trying to hijack a ferry so they could escape to the U.S., received a "very fair" trial. Blaming the U.S. for...

Second Thoughts By: William W. Lawrence 04/15/2003 We hear so much about young Americans -- teenagers and early 20s -- who give Americans a bad name. Then we watch our young GIs and our chest swells with pride. They were freeing an oppressed people while naked women, transvestites, dogs, dancers and singers joined Harry Belafonte in an antiwar protest to "praise the patriotism of the demonstrators" and condemn the military action in Iraq."We denounce governments that act with tyranny," Mr. Belafonte told the crowd. He was talking about our government, not Saddam Hussein's. Listen, there were always war protesters.I was a...

Media Monitor Hooray For Hollywood By Jason Maoz Senior Editor This week the Monitor is intent on having a bit of fun, though the subject is a serious one — the tendency of actors to embrace left-wing causes in general and the current antiwar movement in particular, all the while spouting the sort of inanities that only a New York Times editorial writer would take even half seriously. This, of course, is hardly something new: Way back in 1917 H.L. Mencken described actors as “blatant and obnoxious posturers and windbags” who were “full of hot and rancid gases.” And to...

In Hollywood, apparently, celebrity equals expertise. Edward Norton: "Almost everyone in Germany and France is in sync with the governments. I almost forgot what it's like to be proud of my government. . . . It's dismaying to see the unilateralism the government is doing. There aren't enough rational steps." Robert Altman: "The present government in America I just find disgusting, the idea that George Bush could run a baseball team successfully -- he can't even speak! I just find him an embarrassment. I was over here when the election was on and I couldn't believe it -- and I'm...

Actor and left-wing activist Ed Asner put his blame America first views and contempt for President Bush on full display Friday on CNN. Asner mocked the idea that Iraq poses any nuclear threat, suggesting "they?d have to borrow atomic bombs from Israel," maintained the U.S. is no "moral authority," charged that Bush's policy is motivated by "a strong streak of racism? since "our whole history in regime change has been of people of different color," blamed the U.S. for "the starvation of Cuba," and when Silver said "I thank God that the President has the clarity and the vision" to...

A friend of mine told me last night that Ed Asner and a few other “Hollywood Commies” wrote an open letter criticizing America for striking back after 9/11. They also say that President Bush does not speak for all Americans and his decision to attack Afghanistan was a knee-jerk reaction. Supposedly the letter was published in an English newspaper. Did anyone else hear about this?
