The embattled Phoenix branch of the Department of Veterans Affairs apparently has paid out $10 million in bonuses during the past three years, far more than previously reported. The Arizona Republic obtained and published the bonus records after seeking them from the VA for months. The documents showed 4,188 bonuses were paid in that period to more than 2,150 employees.

A man was arrested by Prescott Valley police after he shot his handgun in a residence and claimed he was shooting at the moon. On Friday, a 49-year-old woman called police because her boyfriend had fired shots from a handgun and was still armed at the time, according to the Prescott Valley Police Department. Officers arrived at a residence near Robert Road and Loos Drive where they confronted 39-year-old Cameron Read. They may be small and cute, but packs of stray Chihuahuas have been wreaking havoc on the streets of Phoenix, Arizona. PHOENIX — In a new revelation in the growing Veterans Affairs’ scandal, the organization’s acting head says that an additional 18 veterans whose names were kept off an official electronic VA appointment list have died. Acting VA Secretary Sloan Gibson said he would ask the inspector general to see if there is any indication those deaths were related to long wait times. HOENIX - After finding out bus loads of undocumented immigrants were being dropped off in Phoenix, many wonder what’s happening to them when they step off the bus. A local organization is helping them by letting them use cell phones to call family in other states so they can get bus tickets out of Phoenix. Many of those bused to Phoenix are families with children. Immigration and Custom Enforcement officials say most are from Central America and were detained in Texas.

On May 20 a gun rights advocate who made a name for himself by interrupting Mark Kelly's gun control speech before the Oregon legislature won the GOP primary to run for the Oregon legislature.
