The Atlantic published an article on Saturday that said Trump-supporting Jewish people should no longer be welcome at synagogues following the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue. Franklin Foer, a Jewish staff writer for The Atlantic, suggested in the article that Jewish Americans who support Trump are complicit in anti-Semitic acts. The article was published the same day 11 people were killed by a shooter at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The anti-Semitic truck driver accused of gunning down 11 people at a Pittsburgh synagogue pleaded not guilty on Thursday to federal charges that could put him on death row. Robert Bowers, 46, was arraigned one day after a grand jury issued a 44-count indictment that charges him with murder, hate crimes, obstructing the practice of religion and other crimes. It was his second brief appearance in a federal courtroom since the weekend massacre at Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood. “Yes!” Bowers said in a loud voice when asked if he understood the charges. Authorities say Bowers...

Before a suspect was even publicly named, President Donald Trump declared that whoever gunned down 11 people in a Pittsburgh synagogue should “suffer the ultimate price” and that the death penalty should be brought back “into vogue.” Trump has largely gotten his wish, at least on the federal level, with death penalty cases ticking back up under his Justice Department after a near-moratorium on such prosecutions in President Barack Obama’s last term, when he directed a broad review of capital punishment and issues surrounding lethal injection. Trump’s attorney general, Jeff Sessions, has so far approved at least a dozen death...

Who’s to blame? Every time there is a shooting, a bombing, any kind of mass killing, a heartbroken nation asks ourselves, who’s to blame? We must begin, of course, with the fact that the person who did it, did it. Period. The person who pulled the trigger, set the bomb, drove the van, was responsible. Unless he was hypnotized, or otherwise physically and mentally controlled from afar, the killer himself bears criminal responsibility for the crime he commits. No excuses, no reprieves, no blaming a cruel society or bad childhood. When a killer kills, he owns the responsibility, and he...

President Trump last spring pardoned Dinesh D’Souza, the conservative commentator and filmmaker who pleaded guilty in 2014 to making illegal campaign contributions. D’Souza has been criticized even by fellow conservatives for his frequently racially-charged public output, such as his decision to criticize former president Barack Obama’s use of a selfie stick by tweeting, “You can take the boy out of the ghetto…” and his repeated claims that Obama’s policies were steered by his Kenyan father’s anti-colonialism. While most of his output centered on critiques of liberalism, D’Souza’s long career as a pundit and writer has also led him to make...

In a speech at a Democratic National Convention event in Philadelphia sponsored by the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (BDS) movement, the House Armed Services Committee member Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga) compared Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria to “termites.” In New York City, posters calling Christian supporters of President Trump “trash” began appearing attached to city litter baskets. Vito Turo, a spokesman for the city’s Department of Sanitation, hastened to reassure city residents that “we do not condone the unlawful defacement of City litter baskets and have asked the artist who designed these posters to submit them for review and...

The Anti-Semitic Media Fights Anti-Semitism Jew-haters exploit a massacre of Jews. October 31, 2018 Daniel Greenfield Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism. The fake news media has made it official. Criticizing George Soros, an anti-Semite and alleged Nazi collaborator, is anti-Semitic. The Washington Post alone ran two dishonest screeds, “Conspiracy Theories about Soros Aren't Just False, They're Anti-Semitic” and “A Conspiracy Theory about George Soros and a Migrant Caravan Inspired Horror.” The former comes from Talia Lavin, a former New Yorker fact...

Jewish leaders from Iowa wrote a letter for the Des Moines Register Tuesday condemning Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) for white supremacist views. Alan Steckman, president of Adas Israel in Mason City and John Pleasants, president of Ames Jewish Congregation, explained that they felt the need to respond in the wake of Saturday's shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. The two criticized King for using "funds from a Holocaust education organization to meet with a notoriously anti-Semitic propaganda site" as "shocking beyond any previous outrage." They said that King's promotion of white supremacist ideology had previously gone unchallenged...

US President Donald Trump has offered condolences at the Pennsylvania synagogue where 11 Jewish worshippers were shot dead at the weekend. He was joined by First Lady Melania Trump, his daughter and son-in-law at the Tree of Life temple in Pittsburgh. Hundreds of protesters gathered on the street chanting slogans against the president. The visit came as mourners attended the first funerals for victims of the massacre. The Trumps were greeted on Tuesday by Rabbi Jeffrey Myers, who led them inside the temple, where the worst anti-Semitic attack in US history unfolded on Saturday. At a memorial outside, Mrs Trump...

Women’s March leader Linda Sarsour said over the weekend that Muslims shouldn’t be humanizing Israelis, referring to Israel as the “oppressor.” As reported by The Investigative Project for Terrorism and the Algemeiner, during the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA)’s conference, Sarsour declared that American Muslims “are complicit in the occupation of Palestinians, in the murder of Palestinian protesters” if they’re not actively promoting the Palestinian cause. “If you’re on the side of the oppressor, or you’re defending the oppressor, or you’re actually trying to humanize the oppressor, then that’s a problem,” Sarsour said.

Vile. it's a word that gets thrown around a lot. But some things truly are vile. At the top of the list is The Nation. Like the rest of the Left, The Nation is cynically exploiting the Squirrel Hill synagogue shooting to attack Trump. "THE PITTSBURGH SYNAGOGUE SHOOTING IS THE INEVITABLE RESULT OF TRUMP’S VILE NATIONALISM," screams one headline. That accusation is bad enough from the rest of the media. It's spectacularly vile coming from a magazine that repeatedly defended a Muslim synagogue terror plotter.

I seriously want to know, why do so many hate the Jewish people? I know they have since Bible times, which even reading it, I still don't get it. Any insight would be appreciated.

All my life I have reminded fellow Jews in America that we are the luckiest Jews to have ever lived in a non-Jewish country. I know what I'm talking about. I wrote a book on anti-Semitism, taught Jewish history at Brooklyn College and fought anti-Semitism since I was 21, when Israel sent me into the Soviet Union to smuggle in Jewish religious items and smuggle out Jewish names. Even after the massacre of 11 Jews in a Pittsburgh synagogue, this assessment remains true. But the greatest massacre of Jews in American history is a unique American tragedy. It is a...

Glick said, “It would’ve been good if the Jewish community in the United States and the national leadership, instead of pronouncing these milquetoast things that we all need to be more civil in our tone, would say, ‘No, we have to be less civil to anti-Semites. We have to be less civil to people who want to annihilate the Jewish people [and] the Jewish state.'” Glick added, “But what we’re finding, particularly among left-wing Jews is that they’re using it to attack the administration and trying to conflate the Nazi who committed this massacre with President Trump. Obviously, nothing could...

As a Jew who attends synagogue every Shabbat, and as an advocate for the carrying of concealed weapons, I fervently pray we will not need armed guards at American synagogues. America's uniqueness has been exemplified by the fact that Jews do not need armed guards in their synagogues. May it always be so. Even if you don't love Jews -- if you only love America -- you need to fight anti-Semites. As the Jews go, so goes the fate of the nation in which they live.
