Gay penguins Skipper and Ping have been given the chance to be parents after taking in an abandoned egg at the Berlin Zoo. The pair, two male emperor penguins — both 10 years old — had longed to be dads for quite some time as they showed “immediate baby fever” as soon as they arrived to the zoo in April

The Trump administration is applying new regulations to protect endangered species, rolling back some requirements [in order] to ground the policy in scientific and economic factors, the Interior Department announced Monday. The regulations, based on the 1973 Endangered Species Act, will “increase transparency and effectiveness and bring the administration of the Act into the 21st century,” the agency said. The rules won’t extend the same protections to threatened species as are applied to those already on the endangered list. Nor will they look as far into the future to project what species face extinction. The changes likely will draw litigation...

Catch us the foxes, The little foxes That ruin the vineyards— For our vineyard is in blossom. (Song of Songs 2:15) =========================================================== In a graphic materialization of the prophecy in Zechariah as explained in the Talmud, foxes are now being seen playing at the Temple Mount. It was reported in The Yeshiva World that visitors to the area have observed the group of about a dozen foxes in the southwestern area of the Western Wall for the last three days in the early hours of the day. This precise scenario was discussed in the Talmud (Makkot 24b). Rabban Gamliel, Rabbi...

This question is prompted by my flight home this morning. Some sanctimonious liberal sat down next to me with her cat in one of those travel bags. She wasn't pleased that I told her that it was very inconsiderate of her to force others in close quarters to fly with her animals. She told me I could change my (premium) seat if I wanted to. I told her that she could ask to have her seat changed. She got up to complain about me to the crew! We both stayed where we were. Her poor cat mournfully meowed from beginning...

The Humane Society evacuated animals that were up for adoption in Louisiana shelters, which helps increase capacity for dogs and cats that may be displaced in the storm. Ahead of Tropical Storm Barry making landfall along the Louisiana coast, more than 120 dogs and cats in the storm's path were flown to safety. The animals were evacuated Friday from St. Landry Parish Animal Control and St. Martin Animal Shelter in Louisiana and flown to Manassas in northern Virginia, the Humane Society of the United States said. Staff and volunteers of the humane society helped unload the pets from the plane...

My ten year old daughter is trying to help animals in need. She took it upon herself and called our local shelter to see what they need to help take care of the animals. Here’s what the gentleman told her: they need cat and dog food; kitty litter; blankets; paper towels; beds; collars; harnesses; kiddie pools and toys. We are going to get a few of these and take them to our local shelter. I challenge each of you to choose at least one of these items and take it to your local shelter and let them know you are...

The hilarious moment a rat caught a ride on a New York subway train, causing passengers to freak out, has been caught on camera. Boutique designer Tyler Taylor tweeted video she shot of the rodent Wednesday morning as it scurried back and forth on the floor. 'So this was my morning,' Taylor wrote in her tweet. So far, the clip has been viewed more than 1.5 million times on Twitter alone, receiving 35,000 likes and 9,500 retweets.

We have a family of foxes that live nearby. There have been multiple reports of sightings. In fact, my son and I saw one of the parents and two of the kits in our driveway last night.

It’s really annoying when people take their dogs out for a walk and don’t clean up after them, isn’t it? Being a dog owner/walker myself, I always make sure to bring a plastic bag along with me to clean up after Jake and I have pointed out to others that they should do likewise when I see someone being negligent. And yet, not everyone is so responsible, but what do we do about it? One apartment complex in Pennsylvania has come up with a rather unique solution. They’re building a DNA database of all the dogs that live there so...

FULL TITLE: Country House sensationally wins the Kentucky Derby after first-place finisher Maximum Security is DISQUALIFIED following steward's inquiry for impeding other riders Country House has won the 2019 Kentucky Derby. The long-shot horse, with odds of 65-1, was declared the winner of the world-famous $3 million race on Saturday, after Maximum Security was sensationally disqualified in a stewards' call. Maximum Security crossed the line first, but its championship title was revoked after judges ruled that the thoroughbred had impeded other riders by changing lanes at the final turn. The 150,000 spectators who descended on Churchill Downs in Louisville to...

Officials in San Diego County have issued an alert after three people have suffered documented fatal overdoses from a new form of the drug fentanyl know as carfentanil. It would only take 2 mg of the drug to cause a deadly overdose meanwhile it would only take .02 mg of carfentanil to have the same fatal results, CBS Sacramento reported. "Basically it's super strong morphine-like a really strong drug to control pain," said Fielding. Carfentanil is similar to fentanyl but...

A pregnant woman’s pained screams could be heard in a Quincy courtroom Thursday as Judge Mark Coven watched a video that prosecutors say shows the woman being beaten by two Quincy teenagers outside a downtown post office. The Patriot Ledger reported that after watching the video, Coven ruled that the two defendants, Tyrese D. Johnson-Nurse, 19, and David D. Russell, 18, could pose a danger to the public and ordered that they adhere to additional conditions, including wearing a GPS monitor, if released. The two had been held behind bars since their arrest Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault and...

The brains of dead pigs have been somewhat revived by scientists hours after the animals were killed in a slaughterhouse. The Yale University research team is careful to say that none of the brains regained the kind of organized electrical activity associated with consciousness or awareness. Still, the experiment described Wednesday in the journal Nature showed that a surprising amount of cellular function was either preserved or restored. The implications of this study have staggered ethicists, as they contemplate how this research should move forward and how it fits into the current understanding of what separates the living from the...

Left-wing Hollywood figures are freaking out and comparing President Donald Trump to a Nazi, using a misleading and edited video from last year of President Donald Trump calling murderous illegal aliens “animals.” In May 2018, President Trump said that members of the violent gang MS-13 were not “people…these are animals.” At the time, the establishment media and Hollywood activists used that line to falsely claim that Trump was calling all asylum seekers “animals.” The video of Trump is now re-circulating online among the left after Democratic 2020 hopeful Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke compared the president’s rhetoric to Nazi Germany. O’Rourke...

A local family is devastated after their pet pig Princess got loose and was killed for meat by an opportunistic community member. Now that person could be facing charges. “She’s very sweet,” Princess’s owner Carrie Hogan told the Outpost, still referring to the animal in the present tense. “She’s not aggressive. She likes to be around people.” Last Saturday morning, Princess, a near-400 pound Hampshire cross pig, escaped from her pen at a residence on Park Street on Fickle Hill in Arcata and took a high-profile jaunt around the neighborhood, occasionally stopping to graze in open front yards. The swine’s...

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In a major breakthrough for the Mueller investigation, the head of the FBI's special counsel on Russian interference ordered President Trump to sit on a large golden scale in order to see if he weighs the same as a duck. According to Robert Mueller, should Trump weigh the same as a duck, it will prove that he is made of wood, which will in turn prove that he is a witch working for the Russian government. "The logic is pretty clear," Mueller said as FBI agents set up the large, custom-made set of scales for Trump to sit on...

Having apparently solved all other problems, California’s state legislature is now considering new legislation that would ban all dissections in high school science classes. What they hope to accomplish by doing this is a mystery, but for any budding young scientists out there, it represents the loss of a chance to learn about anatomy in a hands-on environment. But hey… this is California we’re talking about, so it probably doesn’t have to make much sense. The proposed bill was introduced by state assembly member Ash Kalra. Students in any California public or private school, grades one through 12, could...
