Donald Trump Jr. gave a speech at the Republican convention last night. Slate's Jordan Weissmann* wrote that it was a bit pandery and over-the-top, but mostly fine—a decent and comptently delivered political speech. One observer who had a significantly more positive take was frequent CNN guest Andy Dean, who is most well-known for praising a Trump supporter who sucker-punched a black protester at a rally and for getting called out on national television for using a booster seat. Anderson Cooper snapped at a pro-Donald Trump guest tonight and apologized by the end of the segment. Cooper was particularly worked up about Trump’s answer to a rallygoer who was ranting about all the Muslims in the United States. When Dean said he was taking things out of context and brought up how Muslim training camps are a real concern, Cooper said, “I’ve spent more time overseas than you ever have in your little life.”

I admit that I am truly baffled and quite irked by the decision of Premiere Radio Networks to hire Senator John McCain's daughter, Meghan McCain, to host the nationally syndicated radio talk show, America Now. I'm baffled, because America Now is carried on conservative talk radio stations, and Meghan McCain is not a conservative (more on that in a moment), so conservative talk show listeners will tune out each time she signs on. That's a fact. We are bombarded with leftist media tripe everywhere we turn. We don't want it on our conservative talk stations, too, thank you very much....

Have any of you talk radio junkies heard this guy yet? I remember him filling in for Jason Lewis about a month ago and he was so irritating I had to shut him off. Low and behold about three weeks ago I put on my radio to get my night time Jason Lewis fix and I find Jason's show is no longer on my station and instead this Andy Dean has his own show now.
