  • Your thoughts: Is Cruz running to be VP nominee for Romney, Ryan or Jeb?

I'm trying to figure out his goal. He can't get to 1237 delegates. So staying in the race can only mean he's trying to force a brokered convention by preventing Trump from getting to 1237. However, he's smart enough to know the establishment will nominate Ryan, Romney or Jeb at a brokered convention - never Cruz. So maybe the plan/scene/plot is to reward him with the VP nomination?

Last week I brought up the sticky question of how King Corn was investing big dollars in going after Ted Cruz over his rejection of government subsidies for ethanol and the Renewable Fuel Standard and the fact that Donald Trump had taken a very different position on the subject. In fact, he not only seemed to come out in favor of ethanol subsidies, but used that as a line of attack against Ted Cruz. (One of the only candidates to consistently be on the right, conservative side of this question.) Well, I wasn't the only one to notice this. Two...

During her first foreign trip in 2011, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) slammed President Obama's green energy policy as a "social engineering" project that hurts the U.S. economy. Palin -- a potential 2012 presidential candidate -- said that she favors an "all of the above" energy plan that includes domestic oil drilling and nuclear power. Without mentioning it by name, she criticized the Obama administration for restricting domestic drilling and said that his green jobs agenda is fatally flawed. This push for green energy at the expense of conventional, reliable sources is not a credible energy policy," Palin said...

Sarah Palin is not backing down on drill, baby, drill. From her latest Facebook entry, Sarah Palin: “Am I the only one who wonders what could possibly be the agenda of any politician who would thwart our drive toward energy independence? Continuing to lock up America’s domestic energy reserves, including the energy-rich Last Frontier of Alaska, only equips dangerous foreign regimes as they fund terrorist organizations to harm us and our allies. I’m going to keep speaking and writing about this in the simplest of terms until someone can provide a simple answer as to why liberal Democrats don’t understand...

We are the nation of Velcro, the light-bulb, the microwave, the Ford Model-T, and the Wright Brothers. We fought and defeated tyranny and fascism. We’ve walked on the moon. Where others see impossibility, our nation sees a challenge. Pessimism and hopelessness are not American characteristics. As the price of gas climbs higher and higher, doomsday scenarios are playing out in the media. Americans aren’t buying it, they’re demanding a solution. But our can-do nation is suffering at the hands of “can’t-do” congressional leadership. After months of prohibiting a vote on increased domestic oil production, House Democrats have gone on summer...

The Imus fans huddled last week. Well, a few of them did, and we decided that The Daily Imus thread should be expanded to include all of the network morning shows. Thanks to McGruff for the suggestion. Please jump in with your favorites.
