Maria Saucedo, who was only 31, died the other day in Arizona when Jose Zarate shot her in the chest with a rifle after she refused to let him date her daughter. This sounds like a very ordinary tragedy, but it isn’t. Instead, it perfectly represents the way the Left has used bad ideas and corrupt language to allow terrible things to happen in this country. Jose Zarate, who is 25-years-old, wanted to date Saucedo’s 13-year-old daughter. When Saucedo objected, Zarate pulled out a rifle and shot Saucedo in the chest, killing her. After his arrest, Deputy Joaquin Enriquez stated...

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that's positive or a brand that doesn't mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice.

The Associated Press announced Tuesday that it will no longer use the term “illegal immigrant.” On NBC’s Tonight Show, host Jay Leno said, “They will now use the phrase ‘undocumented Democrat’” (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary)...

When Sean Hannity suddenly “evolved” his position on amnesty to accommodate his idol Marco Rubio, I can't say I was surprised. All of Fox News has been in the tank for so long that it was inevitable. I don't see how someone, at his age and given the enormous amount of evidence against illegal immigration, could morph all of that into a 180 degree position. He didn't even pretend to put up a fight for Americans. He folded like a deck of cards. It was painful to watch someone so wimpified by someone he admires. But when Glenn Beck this...

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — For almost 12 years, a Houston elementary school teacher and an illegal immigrant living in Topeka have engaged in a tug of war to claim the identity of Candida L. Gutierrez in a case that has put a face on the growing crime of "total identity theft" in the United States. On Monday, the real Candida L. Gutierrez saw her identity thief, Benita Cardona-Gonzalez, for the first time. Their encounter came inside a federal courtroom in Wichita, where Cardona-Gonzalez, a Mexican national, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for possessing fraudulent identification documents. The plea...

'We’re going to continue to do that… for the foreseeable future' Most of you know the story by now: Obama first tried to blame a pending (fictional) sequester apocalypse on the Republicans -even though the sequester mechanism/legislation was entirely the President's own invention, and he signed it. Those who dared point-out the actual truth were threatened, attacked, mocked, and denigrated. So Dear Leader tells us the automatic budget cuts are now bad, and he insists on replacing half the cuts with revenue in the form of NEW TAXES. The GOP astoundingly grew a pair -at least temporarily- and told him to go pound sand. ...

In a highly unusual move, federal immigration officials have released a wave of detainees from immigration detention centers around the country in an effort to save money as automatic budget cuts loom in Washington, officials said. The government has not dropped the deportation cases against the immigrants, however: The detainees have been freed on supervised release while their cases continue in court, officials said.

Great video on the issue. New Illegal Alien Electorate Anti-Gun, Higher Taxes, More Spending, Big Gov, Biggest Voter Registration Effort Ever. Either the Republicans adapt to the new electorate or they don't legalize illegal aliens and start enforcing the law vigorously. Which one do you think they want and the heck with you. The new electorate will be changing Republicans' position on gun control, taxes, Income redistribution, healthcare, government involvement in education, foreign policy towards Palestinians and China. So if you are for limited government, illegal immigration reform is important to you and your children's future. http://www.wnd.com/2013/02/immigrants-like-democrats-over-economics/#yshihUBDyWvROPJt.99

Authorities are awaiting the results of an autopsy before deciding whether to pursue criminal charges against a Houston woman who apparently induced an abortion and then discarded the 5-month-old fetus in a relative's trash can. Bleeding heavily after delivery, the 29-year-old woman showed up at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital on Wednesday and told an emergency-room nurse what had happened. The nurse called police, who dispatched officers to recover the fetus, which the woman said she had wrapped in a blanket.

Jose Antonio Vargas, an illegal immigrant and former reporter, scolded a congressional panel on Wednesday, saying that he should not be called illegal, and saying it is an insult to his family who brought him here. “When you inaccurately call me illegal, you not only dehumanize me, you’re offending them,” he said. “No human being is illegal.” Mr. Vargas testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee alongside Chris Crane — a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and president of the ICE agents’ union — who is unable to arrest him under the administration’s new non-deportation policies. Mr. Vargas, who “came...

SALT LAKE CITY - David Morales was on a Greyhound bus near Las Cruces, N.M., when Border Patrol agents stopped the bus for a routine check. Morales, 21, rose up and informed his fellow passengers of their rights. That, he says, landed him in detention for nine hours before immigration agents decided to cut him loose. The experience, he says, was his inspiration for developing an app to inform undocumented people of their rights in a wide array of scenarios ranging from traffic stops by city police officers to a workplace raid by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. "I can't...

A judge is holding secret hearings in the case of the man convicted in the 2001 killing of Washington intern Chandra Levy. Neither prosecutors nor defense lawyers have revealed the purpose of the hearings, which have been taking place in Washington behind closed doors. Several media organizations, including The Associated Press, are petitioning to open the proceedings. The next hearing takes place on February 7. Ingmar Guandique was convicted in 2010 of killing Levy, whose body was found in Washington's Rock Creek Park. The case captured the nation's attention because of Levy's relationship with California congressman Gary Condit. Condit was...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal immigration agents were prepared to arrest an illegal immigrant and registered sex offender days before the November elections but were ordered by Washington to hold off after officials warned of "significant interest" from Congress and news organizations because the suspect was a volunteer intern for Sen. Robert Menendez, according to internal agency documents provided to Congress. The Homeland Security Department said last month, when The Associated Press first disclosed the delayed arrest of Luis Abrahan Sanchez Zavaleta, that AP's report was "categorically false." Sanchez, 18, was an immigrant from Peru who entered the country on a...

A bill to allow undocumented immigrants to obtain an Illinois driver’s license passed the Illinois Senate today by a vote of 41 to 14. One Democrat voted “present.” The bill is SB957. The 10 Republicans who joined the Democrats in rewarding non-citizens who are already breaking our laws, were: Bill Brady (Sponsor), Kirk Dillard, Tom Johnson, John Millner (Sponsor), Matt Murphy, Carole Pankau, Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno (Sponsor), Sue Rezin, Ron Sandack (Sponsor), and Suzi Schmidt. Two Republicans, Pamela Althoff and Dale Righter, took the ultimate lily-livered approach and just didn’t vote on the bill. That’s as bad as...
