As we all know, Australia hasn't been a bastion of freedom of late. Gun confiscation, Covid lockdowns, and entrenched leftist politicians like Dan Andrews seem to be pushing the Land Down Under in the direction of the Soviet Union.I've noticed lately on Sky News Australia the coverage of skyrocketing crime in the the city of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. It seems that there is a particular crime problem among the indigenous population, similar to the Native American population on reservations here in the US.The news coverage of this issue, however, seems to be putting the blame for the...

MYSTERY surrounds the discovery of what appears to be an aircraft sitting on the ground in the middle of nowhere in the Simpson Desert. An Alice Springs man discovered the "plane" yesterday, which he estimates to be about 128km southeast of the outback town. The man, who preferred not to be named, said he had been making a routine check of the region using internet-based satellite images available on Google Earth. Alice Springs Airport general manager Don McDonald said it was not uncommon for images of planes to be found on Google Earth and that the image may be of...

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1, unusually powerful for Australia, has struck outside of Alice Springs. The quake hit at 4:14am, 125 kilometres west of Uluru, at a depth of about 10 kilometres, according to Geoscience Australia. Two aftershocks measuring 3.8 and 3.4 were recorded in the hour afterwards, and senior seismologist Johnathan Bathgate said more were expected. He said there had been activity near the site before, with a 5.6 recorded slightly further west in 1999. Geoscience Australia said the main tremor could have been felt as far as 507 kilometres from its epicentre, although any damage would...

SUSPECTED French terrorist Willie Brigitte tried to get information from his wife, former soldier Melanie Brown about the top-secret spy facility at Pine Gap, French police sources say. During her four days of interrogation by French officials in Paris last month, police said Ms Brown recalled incidents with Brigitte in Sydney that, on reflection, seemed suspicious to her. In particular, Ms Brown is understood to have told French interrogators that Brigitte questioned her at length about the US-Australian electronic intelligence station at Pine Gap, near Alice Springs. He asked her if she had ever been inside the base when...
