Ali Saleh Kahlah al Marri, an admitted former al Qaeda operative, has been released from a American jail and permitted to return home to Qatar. No formal statement has been released yet by either government, but it is being reported that al Marri's release was the result of a bilateral agreement between the Qatari and American governments. According to the US Bureau of Prisons, a prisoner with the same name and estimated age (ID number 12194-026) was freed on Friday. Additionally, a source from al Marri's family told the Qatari press he was recently released and arrived in Doha Saturday....

NEW YORK - (KRT) - A prominent Yemeni cleric is suspected of raising money for terrorists at a Muslim charity and several mosques in Brooklyn, it was disclosed yesterday. An FBI agent pulled back the veil on a secret investigation of Sheikh Abdullah Satar at the trial of an associate who is charged with lying about the cleric's activities. A 38-foot minaret was hoisted Tuesday atop the newly completed Omar Al Farouk Mosque at the Islamic Institute of Orange County in Anaheim. It is covered in a 1,200-year-old pattern created from Moroccan tiles. Traditionally, minarets are used to call the faithful to prayer and are the most widely recognized symbol of an Islamic house of worship. About 170,000 Muslims live in Orange County, with many living in the Anaheim area. About 1,200 are part of the community around the IIOC.
