President Barack Obama is ready to make it official. With Hillary Clinton on the verge of securing the Democratic nomination for president, Obama is on the verge of formally endorsing his former secretary of state and starting to aggressively make the case against Republican Donald Trump. White House officials say the announcement could come within days, although not before Democrats in New Jersey, California and four other states vote Tuesday in contests expected to solidify Clinton’s claim.

The Obama administration’s numerous foreign-policy failures will be a serious problem for her 2016 candidacy. Like it or not, the 2016 presidential race is now well under way. Republican candidates are flocking to Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, while Hillary Clinton, in-between $200,000 speeches at universities, is reported to be in seclusion developing her economic policies. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by minutiae, but sometimes a twist of events turns out to be important, even twelve months away from the first caucuses and primaries. And of course, always keep in mind that most minutiae turn out to be trivial....

The disastrous rollout of the Affordable Care Act was the catalyst for my party’s midterm thumping. ....I have been a registered Democrat since age 18, a Democratic candidate for statewide office in Colorado and a party precinct captain in that caucus state. I’ve volunteered for numerous Democratic candidates and contributed to party causes and campaigns..... ObamaCare is a failure. For anyone who thinks this is a misprint because no Democratic activist would make such a comment, let me add that it is too big, too complicated and too expensive.
