Airlines have cancelled and delayed hundreds of flights in the U.S. sparking travel chaos during the busiest Fourth of July weekend since the pandemic, which has been dubbed 'Airmageddon.' Around 48 million people are expected to travel this weekend with AAA estimating 3.5million would take to the air. But the actual number of passengers flying may be dramatically higher as, the Transportation Security Administration screened more than 2.4 million travelers at airports on Thursday alone - up 17 percent from the Fourth of July Friday in 2019. Many fliers will be facing disappointment, with 604 flights canceled by 2:30pm, and...

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recommending that all domestic travelers undergo COVID-19 testing before and after they travel—regardless of vaccination status. In an update on the agency’s website, anyone traveling within the United States may want to consider “getting tested as close to the time of departure as possible,” and no more than three days before a flight. It previously only recommended testing for people who have not received COVID-19 vaccines or up-to-date booster shots. The CDC update is also recommending that people take a test before or after a trip if they went to crowded...

The UK government’s restrictions on international travel during the CCP virus pandemic were “disproportionate to the risks to public health,” a select committee of MPs said. The Transport Committee on Monday published the report of its inquiry into airlines’ and airports’ recovery from the pandemic, urging the government to devise “a transparent and predictable system” that can be used in potential future pandemics. It also urged the government to regulate the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus testing market, introduce a mechanism to grant automatic refunds to airline customers, and draft a new airline insolvency bill to “handle future airline insolvencies...

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Wednesday admitted forced masking on planes had nothing to do with science or keeping people from getting infected with Covid. Virtually everyone knows masks don’t work. The Biden Regime knows masks don’t work and Psaki admitted it’s all about power. ... A Trump-appointed federal judge on Monday declared Biden’s travel mask mandate unlawful. The Biden regime’s DOJ on Tuesday announced they will appeal Monday’s mask mandate ruling for commercial air travel if the CDC decides to keep the mask mandates in place. White House reporters asked Jen Psaki if the Biden DOJ will...

President Joe Biden’s administration will appeal the April 18 ruling that struck down the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) mask mandate, if the CDC recommends an appeal, the Department of Justice announced Tuesday. The department and the CDC “disagree with the district court’s decision and will appeal, subject to CDC’s conclusion that the order remains necessary for public health,” Anthony Coley, an agency spokesman, said in a statement. The CDC did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Xavier Becerra, Biden’s health secretary, told reporters in Nevada earlier in the day that the administration was leaning toward...

Hours after the U.S. Senate voted to repeal the federal transportation mask mandate—which the White House quickly threatened to veto—a group of commercial pilots filed the first legal challenge by airline workers to overturn the requirement to wear masks on all public transport. On March 15, 10 commercial airline pilots from six states filed a lawsuit with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia against the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and its parent agency, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), asking the court to strike down the federal transportation mask mandate, arguing that...

A federal mask mandate for airline passengers will remain intact despite a rule issued Feb. 25 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ease mask guidance in other settings. The mask mandate for airline passengers and airports, issued by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), remains in effect until at least March 18, when it expires. The mandate could still be extended. “The mask requirement remains in place, and we will continue to assess the duration of the requirement in consultation with CDC,” TSA spokeswoman Alexa Lopez told news outlets on Feb. 25. The TSA mandate was announced...

On Sunday, Anthony “Dr. Science” Fauci said that he thought a vaccine mandate for air travel would be a great idea. On Monday, having run it up the flagpole without any salutes, he walked that idea back again. But on Tuesday, to make it impossible for Americans to plan even a day in advance, Biden put vaccines for air travel back on the table. If Democrats aren’t intentionally trying to destroy America, they’re certainly doing a good job by accident. Here’s where we are:The CDC has long acknowledged that vaccines do not stop COVID infections or spread, so that means...

What the hell is this guy doing? His critics accuse him of being a megalomaniac, drunk on his own power and influence, rooting for a forever pandemic to remain relevant and ubiquitous. Even if you think that's uncharitable and unfair, it's pretty jarring to see him breezily reject the notion that we'll get back to a place where we don't have to wear masks on airplanes. Ever? He doesn't use that word, but the question was pretty open-ended, and his reaction was a pretty flat 'no:' How on earth does he not say something like, "yes of course, we will...

ATLANTA - At least three people were injured at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after a passenger's gun was discharged Saturday afternoon, the Transportation Security Administration confirmed. Atlanta police said a gun was discharged near the airport's main security checkpoint. Passengers were directed to evacuate the airport and all departing flights were temporarily stopped. Later in the afternoon, airport officials said there was no active shooter threat and airport passengers and employees were safe.

Exactly 20 years ago today, President George W. Bush signed the Aviation and Transportation Security Act into law and created the Transportation Security Administration, better known as the TSA. A response to the 9/11 attacks, the TSA was thought to be a necessary tool for confronting the new reality of terror in the skies. Two decades later, the TSA has more than 54,000 employees, a budget of $8 billion dollars, and a long track record of harassing passengers for no good reason. Far from contributing to actual safety, the TSA is a stunning example of government failure: Its absurd travel...

A perfect storm is brewing for the busiest travel week of the year, with severe weather forecasts, post-pandemic record levels of travelers, and President Joe Biden's vaccine mandate deadline for federal workers all converging to cause potential chaos. The Transportation Security Administration said Wednesday it expects to screen about 20 million air passengers during the busy Thanksgiving travel period, shattering post-pandemic records. But TSA screeners, like all federal employees, face a Monday deadline to show proof of vaccination for COVID-19, and last month the agency revealed only 60 percent of its workers have been vaccinated so far.

During an interview with the Skimm This podcast that will air this coming Thursday, Fauci said that people hoping to travel with “other people” should be vaccinated. “I would support that if you want to get on a plane and travel with other people that you should be vaccinated,” Fauci said. In the same interview, Fauci also endorsed vaccine mandates for children, comparing the coronavirus with polio and measles. “When you hear us say should you mandate vaccination for children to be able to attend school, some people say, ‘Oh, my goodness. That would be terrible to do that.’ But...

Dr. Anthony Fauci on Sunday said he would support vaccine requirements for air travel, reports The Hill. Fauci made the comments during an interview with the Skimm This podcast, filmed last week. The episode will air Thursday. Fauci’s support comes after Rep. Don Beyer, D-Va., introduced legislation requiring vaccine proof or a negative COVID-19 test for all airline and train passengers. Beyer’s bill, called the Safe Travel Act, requires all Amtrak and commercial airline travelers to either have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or to provide a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of traveling. It also mandates Amtrak and...

White House climate envoy John Kerry was photographed without a face mask while walking through Boston Logan International Airport on Monday morning—the second time he has been snapped apparently flouting the mask mandate during air travel this year—according to photographs obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. In photos, Kerry can be seen walking through an airport body scanner without wearing a mask. The source who provided the photos said they were taken at 11:41 a.m. on Monday at Logan Airport. Kerry previously denied that he went maskless on an American Airlines flight after a picture emerged in March, calling the...

The company scrapped 123 flights on Saturday and 178 flights on Sunday, with 97 more canceled for Monday. All airlines are dealing with staffing issues connected to the coronavirus pandemic; in March 2020, when air travel all but stopped, thousands of employees were laid off or accepted buyouts, and now that people are flying again, there aren't enough workers. American Airlines said its catering contractor and wheelchair operators also aren't fully staffed.

He says cargo flights will still be allowed, particularly to ensure shipments of vaccines and personal protective equipment can continue. Shipments of vaccine to Canada, however, are suspended by India likely until at least June, as the country battles its biggest surge of COVID-19 yet. More than 300,000 people were diagnosed in India today, its highest single-day total to date. Health Minister Patty Hajdu says half of the people who are testing positive for COVID-19 after arriving in Canada on an airplane came from India, even though Indian flights accounted for only one-fifth of air traffic. She says passengers coming...
