Georgia this week began the formal process of appealing the blocked of portions of their immigration law, HB87. On June 27th, Judge Thomas Thrash granted a request by the ACLU, the Mexican Government, and others, to block parts of the law that penalize people who knowingly and willingly transport or harbor illegal immigrants while committing another crime. He also blocked provisions that authorize officers to verify the immigration status of someone who can't provide proper identification. Judge Thrash's absurd ruling sounded in parts as if penned by a petulant staffer from the ACLU... "The apparent legislative intent is to...

"I feel this story should be heard." The following are the contents of a letter we received at Borderland Beat from a couple that until recently resided in the tourist destination of Ixtapa in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. We have independently corroborated certain facts in the letter and believe the contents to be true. Names and addresses have been deleted for obvious reasons. I feel that you should be made aware of an incident that occurred early in the morning of May 9 2011 and about the treatment we received after. My husband and I were sleeping at our...

Americans were shocked by the recent student takeover of the Tucson, AZ school board. But far more shocking was the "Raza Studies" curriculum the students were rioting to defend ("La Raza" = "The Race"). Raza Studies teaches children that Mexico was STOLEN from Mexico by the U.S. It turns U.S. history on its head. Students are taught they were "colonized" by American "invaders" and that those lands - called "Aztlan" - must be "liberated" ("La Reconquista") by Mexican-Americans. "Gringo" traditions and culture are disparaged and rejected. Who supports this hateful curriculum? YOU DO! The National Countil of La Raza (NCLR)...

Houston-area teen Nick Morris last year was outraged that his H.S. hung the Mexican flag above the American flag for Cinco de Mayo. When his Mom complained and they ignored her, Nick ripped down the flag and threw it in the trash. A year later, this military-bound teen has no regrets and would do it again. But he won't have to, because THIS year the school did not decorate for 'Cinco' at all. Which goes to show how when people stop being afraid and stand up to the La Raza nonsense, we win. 9 illegals caught working to build a VA hospital. Why did E-Verify screening fail? Because the illegals committed ID theft to get citizens' SSNs, and they get a slap on the wrist if caught. This is why SWA has called for ID theft by illegals to be a FELONY with 5-year MINIMUM sentence. But our big problem here is why didn't the VA just reach out to unemployed VETERANS who so desperately need jobs? Shame! YouTube LINK Join Stand with Arizona and help stop this madness

President Obama is committed to making sure middle class families do not see a tax increase, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday, after two top economic officials seemed to leave the door open to such a tax hike. "The president's clear commitment is not to raise taxes on those making less than $250,000 a year," Gibbs said, repeating Obama's pledge from the presidential campaign. That was after Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner suggested Sunday that taxes increases are inevitable. "We will not get this economy back on track, recovery will be not strong and sustained, unless we ... can...

Reporting from Sacramento -- California could run out of money as soon as July, the Legislature's chief budget analyst warned Thursday, as a new poll showed voters poised to reject five budget-related measures on the May 19 ballot. If the propositions do not pass, the state could find itself as much as $23 billion short of the money it needs to pay its bills over the next year, according to a new forecast by Legislative Analyst Mac Taylor. The poll, from the Public Policy Institute of California, found that even as voter interest in the ballot measures rises, all are...

NEW YORK (AP) - An FBI informant testified Tuesday that he wanted to put "the world on notice" when he set himself on fire outside the White House, throwing the terror-funding case against a Yemeni sheik into turmoil. Testifying for the second day as a hostile witness for the defense, Mohamed Alanssi said he had not intended to kill himself, even though he sent suicide notes to the FBI and The Washington Post. "I did not have the intention but I wanted to put the government and the world on notice," Alanssi said. Until he set himself on fire outside...
