A top Jeb Bush ally said that Jeb Bush will not back down on his support for comprehensive amnesty legislation and is willing to win or lose the GOP nomination based on the issue. On Thursday, Clint Bolick, who co-wrote Immigration Wars with the former Florida governor, said Bush “is either going to win or lose with a mandate on immigration.” “He’s not going to shift his position on this,”Bolick told MSNBC’s Jose Diaz Balart. “He believes in this with his absolute heart and soul.”

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush may find out that Wall Street money will not buy him the love of GOP primary voters like it does mainstream media elites who are rushing to cast him as the 2016 frontrunner. As soon as Mitt Romney announced that he would not make a third White House run, the mainstream press immediately anointed Bush as the clear Republican 2016 frontrunner. They made their pronouncements even though Bush had not yet proven with his speeches that he can be a successful candidate in the digital age and neither had the best ground game nor the...

Pondering Punishment as an Act of Love By: Msgr. Charles PopeIn the first reading from today’s Mass (Wednesday of the fourth week of the year) came this admonition:My son, do not disdain the discipline of the Lord or lose heart when reproved by him; for whom the Lord loves, he disciplines; he scourges every son he acknowledges. In our times, we have tended to set love and punishment in opposition; we also set mercy and punishment in opposition. But this is wrong. It is possible, at least with human beings, that a certain punishment can be excessive. But of itself, punishment...

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is to deliver what aides call an “optimistic, conservative vision for the future” in his first unpaid speech since declaring his interest in a bid for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. […] Wednesday’s speech is the first in a series of stops his aides call his “Right to Rise” tour, borrowing from his economic mantra and the name of the political action committee he formed in December. Bush’s speech, aides said, is aimed at underscoring his desire to reinvigorate the middle class, which he argues has languished despite the ongoing economic recovery. Conservative economic policies,...

A Houston musician has been murdered by an illegal alien who had been allowed to stay in the United States, even though the alien had been convicted in Texas previously for selling narcotics. The suspect was killed by police following a second murder that he committed immediately after killing the musician. The illegal alien’s name was Victor Manuel Reyes. Court records indicate the alien was sentenced to five years for drug dealing in 2010 and had an immigration hold upon exiting prison. It is unclear at this time if he was deported and immediately came back in across the porous...

President Obama will no doubt clash regularly with his newly empowered partisan adversaries in Congress. But the most important struggle in U.S. politics over the next two years will be inside the Republican Party. And the person who can play a decisive role in that battle is Jeb Bush. Yes, Democrats have their own divides, usually described as differences between their populist and Wall Street camps. Still, there is broad agreement inside the party, even among most of its Wall Streeters, that wage stagnation and economic inequality are major problems for the country and that Democrats need to make dealing...

U.S. President Barack Obama defended his plan to use executive powers to implement some immigration reforms, saying in an interview broadcast on Sunday he had waited long enough for Congress to act. Obama told congressional leaders on Friday he would try to ease some restrictions on undocumented immigrants, despite warnings from Republican leaders that such actions would "poison the well" or would be "a red flag in front of a bull". -snip- "We don't have the capacity to deport 11 million people -- everybody agrees on that," he said.

MEXICO CITY – Gov. Jerry Brown suggested Monday that Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s ordering of National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to address the surge in border crossings is misguided, urging politicians instead to heed the “religious call … to welcome the stranger” in addressing the crisis. “This is a human problem, and it has been the religious call of all religions to welcome the stranger, and it’s in that spirit that I believe the clergy can call the United States, Mexico and all the players to perhaps a higher response than might otherwise happen,” Brown said on the...

Bill Clinton demanded that little Elian Gonzalez be shipped back to his dad in Cuba and look how well that turned out! Oprah Winfrey even took up the call for that poor boy's return to Cuba. “People focus too much on race,” says T.W. Shannon, a sixth-generation Oklahoman and member of the Chickasaw Nation. What’s more important, he says, is “what you believe and how you’re going to govern.” (SNIP) When asked about other political figures who inspire him, Shannon names Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor. That would not have been the first response of most attendees at CPAC, where libertarian Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) won a straw poll as the preferred next presidential candidate. Shannon says he likes Bush’s stance on education. It’s a tragedy, he adds, that the number one determinant of a...

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush remains a major supporter of the nationwide education standards known as Common Core despite Republican criticism. The GOP mostly favored Common Core standards when they were released four years ago, with the vast majority of states signing on to participate. Common Core establishes standards in English language arts and math for K-12 students. But when President Barack Obama tied federal election grants to states’ adopting the standards, many conservatives changed their tune, arguing it’s the states’ place – not the federal government's – to decide local education standards, according to U.S. News & World Report....

The Obama administration is releasing inside the United States some immigrants who have crossed illegally into the country amid a surge in traffic across the Mexican border in southern Texas. But how many remains a mystery because the government won’t disclose the number. The Homeland Security Department started flying immigrants to Arizona from the Rio Grande Valley in Texas last month after the number of immigrants, including more than 48,000 children traveling on their own, overwhelmed the Border Patrol there. […] The administration would not say Friday how many immigrants were affected—hundreds or thousands—or how many of those immigrants subsequently...

Listening to Mark Levin and the idea just crossed my mind... If the Democrats could be encouraged to support Voter ID laws they would pass in an instant. How do we do this? It is Simple, and the answer comes from Jeb Bush. Yes, it's true! We must in the next and all future elections perform an "act of love" towards our Republican / Conservative Candidates and VOTE multiple times for them!! I would imagine overnight the Democrats would be shaking the trees for support for Voter ID laws and they would be passed before the next election! All it...
