Decades ago, Francis Schaeffer perceived this devilish spirit already at work amongst evangelical Protestants. In “The Great Evangelical Disaster” he wrote:“Accommodation, accommodation. How the mindset of accommodation grows and expands…For the evangelical accommodation to the world of our age represents the removal of the last barrier against the breakdown of our culture. And with the final removal of this barrier will come social chaos and the rise of authoritarianism in some form to restore order.” (p. 401)

As of March of next year, the Polish government will be looking to charge Ukrainian refugees for beds in accommodation centres as the country faces economic difficulties in housing over a million people who have fled the conflict with Russia. Poland will be charging Ukrainian refugees around 10 euros per day, or 40 Polish zloty, for beds in gymnasiums and other facilities that are being used as refugee accommodation.
