Media commentators, feminists, and abortion supporters readily latch onto the idea that the United States is transforming into a real-life Handmaid’s Tale, where women are forced to bear children. In reality, they should be focusing their gaze on China, as reports accuse the country of weaponizing abortion and birth control against women. China’s behavior toward Muslim minorities amounts to genocide, according to experts and the media. In the past two years, the U.S. government and human-rights groups have accused China of detaining one to three million Muslims, including Uighurs and Kazakhs, in “camps.” Since then, reports have claimed that China...

PolicyMic, a news organization that claims to know and report on what matters most to young people, tells readers that their promise is to report on "perspectives that aren't typically showcased at other outlets." Yet, a recent article regurgitated one piece of fiction that almost all of the other media outlets have already showcased ad nauseam. And I can't be the only Millennial who is getting annoyed by the lack of integrity in reporting about my generation. Their recent article, Dear American Women: You Are Being Lied to, lists nine ways in which American women are supposedly being duped by...

Author’s Note: The following column is based on a real life conversation, which occurred last May. It originally appeared on www.ClashDaily.com in July.Teenager: Dr. Adams, may I have a few minutes to speak with you? Me: Sure. What is your name? (Gives name). Teen: I enjoyed listening to your talk on abortion just a few minutes ago. Your points were solid. But I have just one problem. It’s with the rape exception. Can you honestly tell me that you could look a rape victim in the eye and tell her that she could not have an abortion and that she...

Recently, Ann Coulter wrote a controversial column suggesting that numerous Republican losses in the 2012 election cycle could be tied to the GOP stance on abortion. After lamenting the problem, she suggested a solution: the GOP should officially abandon its opposition to the so-called rape exception to a ban on abortion. Ann's position on this matter is wrong for three reasons. First, it is unprincipled. Second, it will not be received with the popular support she envisions. Third, it is not the best political response to the problem. After elaborating on each problem associated with Ann's position, I propose an...

Let's stipulate that people, and particularly politicians, can get into trouble by attempting to speak for God. But that's not the moral of the story regarding Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock. Responding to a question about abortion, Mourdock offered a grieved response -- his voice breaking a bit -- on the matter of which exceptions he favored. His Democratic opponent, Joe Donnelly, also pro-life, said that he would permit abortions in cases of rape, incest and to save the life of the mother. Mourdock said he had "struggled with it . . . for a long time," but had come...

Most of my columns are meant to expose the hypocrisy of self-described liberals who have taken over our institutions of higher learning. However, on some occasions, I attempt to address misguided thinking among self-described conservatives. An example is my recent column “Romney and the Rapist,” which was described by many readers as either “weird” or “convoluted” or both. Those descriptions are indeed accurate and reflect the intention behind the controversial essay. It was my intention to write a column that would identify absurd arguments as a means of drawing out the flawed reasoning of those who would support Romney’s...

It's trapping season. The targets are Republicans, whom the Democratic-friendly media (the trappers) hunt in order to smear -- especially the Romney-Ryan ticket -- forcing them off message. The bait in the latest case is the issue of abortion in cases of rape. The hunter's target was Rep. Todd Akin, a Missouri Republican, who is running for the Senate against Democratic incumbent Claire McCaskill. Thirty-nine years after Roe v. Wade and subsequent Supreme Court rulings legalizing abortion, one might think a pro-lifer like Todd Akin would be able to see he was walking into a trap when a St. Louis...
