A mangled quote by ABC News about White House press secretary Sean Spicer’s job performance forced the network to apologize late Tuesday. Complaints by former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer regarding the way “Nightline” represented his opinions prompted him to defend President Trump’s attacks on the media. The network said it would fix a Monday segment that chopped comments about Mr. Spicer that could be misconstrued. “Nightline aired a segment Monday night about the first three days of the new administration including Sean Spicer’s statement to the press on Saturday,” the network said in statement, The Hill reported Wednesday....

ABC has had to re-schedule its LGBT miniseries When We Rise to make room for President Donald Trump. File this under “Ironic.” Earlier this month, ABC announced it would schedule its groundbreaking miniseries across four consecutive nights, for maximum impact: February 27-March 2, from 9-11 PM each night. But yesterday, House Speaker Paul Ryan announced at a news conference at the Capitol that he had invited President Donald Trump to address a joint session of Congress on February 28 (First addresses by a newly elected POTUS to the joint session of Congress are not officially called State of the Union...

After being caught deceptively editing comments from former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer during a report on Monday’s Nightline, on Wednesday, ABC News was again embroiled in a fake news controversy after the network used a badly photoshopped image to promote World News Tonight anchor David Muir’s upcoming interview with President Trump. The picture showed Trump looking out the window of the Oval Office in a pretty standard pose, however, outside that window there appeared to be a massive blizzard (Click on the image above to enlarge). The only problem? It hasn’t snowed in Washington D.C. in weeks and...

Apparently, some members of the mainstream media cannot help themselves: their hatred for Donald Trump is so intense that they engage in misconduct almost guaranteed to be exposed, and thereby reinforce the Trump narrative that they are dishonest. It is an exercise in self-destruction that suggests deep psychological issues. Alex Griswold of Mediaite has the story. Ari Fleisher, whose interview was doctored to reverse his intentions, tweeted his protest: @Nightline proves Spicer right about MSM's dedication to negativity. Here is what I told them in a taped interview: 1/4Having been caught, ABC apologized: ABC News Apologizes After Editing Former...

ABC News apologized Tuesday after the Monday night edition of Nightline edited a quote from former George W. Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer in a way that made it appear that he was more critical of current White House press secretary Sean Spicer than he actually was. “[Spicer’s] briefing made me uncomfortable. It was too truculent, too tough. It looks as if the ball was dropped on Saturday,” Nightline quoted Fleischer as saying. But Fleischer took to Twitter to complain that he had been taken out of context.

Terry Moran of ABC News put on his crypto-fascist hat and declared President Donald Trump’s inauguration speech had “overtones” of the 1930s “anti-Semitic movement” because the President dared to put the words “America’ and “first” together. Moran began by conceding Trump’s message was “why he was sent here, by people who want to hear that message of America first.” “However, it carries with it overtones from the 1930s, when an anti-Semitic movement saying, ‘We don’t want to get involved in Europe’s war. It’s the Jews’ fault in Germany,’” he pontificated, before adding ominously, “Charles Lindbergh led them.” “It is a...

Retired Marine Gen. James "Hoss" Cartwright has reportedly lost his security clearance as an investigation into his involvement in national security leaks continues, Foreign Policy reports. Cartwright, a retired four-star general who served for 40 years and last served on the Joint Chiefs, has been the subject of an ongoing investigation into an alleged leak of classified information of the "Stuxnet" virus that targeted and temporarily disabled Iran's nuclear facilities in 2010. The general's legal team has called that assertion "preposterous." Gordon Lubold of FP reports that multiple current and former administration sources said Cartwright lost his clearance earlier this...

We all know by now that Megyn Kelly opted to sign a comprehensive deal with NBC. It is also clear that competitor ABC News had been one of the top suitors. She even turned down a handsome $100 million package from Fox News to go to the peacock network for far less money. But, could Kelly’s recent appearance on Good Morning America have stopped that network from competing harder for the Fox News host? Mediaite has learned that the minute-by-minute ratings for GMA took a major (and surprising) dive during her segment on November 15 to promote her new book,...

In reaction to the news that Facebook is partnering with the Associated Press, ABC News, and Snopes, among other apparent “fact checkers” to tag and weed out “fake news” on the popular social site, Media Research Center President Brent Bozell said Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg assured him that “his express aim is to eliminate only patently false news stories from Facebook.” “I have been in communication with Mark Zuckerberg at Facebook since he announced their new ‘fake news’ initiative,” said MRC President Bozell in a Dec. 16 statement. “I expressed grave concern with this decision and the liberal ‘fact-checking’ organizations...

The long-awaited 2016 election day is finally here, and it could be a historic one for a number of different reasons. The United States could elect its first female president Hillary Clinton; Republicans could take back the White House with Donald Trump after two terms of Democratic control; there could be record voter turnout and the leading campaign election night parties will both be in New York.

Megyn Kelly has reportedly been in talks with both ABC and NBC about the possibility of moving to a new network. Her contract with Fox News is up in July, and the network has reportedly already offered her over $20million to stay. CNN has also been trying to land Kelly over the past few months, with the hopes of putting her in their primetime line-up. A source is claiming however that money 'may now be less of an issue' for Kelly, and she would take a job for less than was Fox News is offering. Kelly has also reportedly been...

Donald Trump will meet Monday afternoon with executives and on-air anchors from the five largest television networks in the United States. The get-together wasn't mentioned in a mid-morning conference call the presidential transition's media go-betweens held with reporters. CNN reported that it was organized by Kellyanne Conway, a senior adviser to Trump who served as his campaign manager. Representatives from CNN, Fox News, NBC, ABC and CBS will file in to Trump Tower for the sit-down with Trump and Conway. The entire meeting will be conducted 'off the record,' meaning attendees must promise not to report on what is said...

An award-winning Iranian nuclear scientist, who disappeared last year under mysterious circumstances, has defected to the CIA and been resettled in the United States, according to people briefed on the operation by intelligence officials. Shahram Amiri, a nuclear physicist in his early 30s, went missing last June three days after arriving in Saudi Arabia on a pilgrimage, according to the Iranian government. The officials were said to have termed the defection of the scientist, Shahram Amiri, "an intelligence coup" in the continuing CIA operation to spy on and undermine Iran's nuclear program. A spokesperson for the CIA declined to comment....

CNN has formally severed ties with commentator Donna Brazile, a spokesman confirmed to Mediaite Monday. CNN and ABC News had both suspended Brazile after she was tapped to serve as acting DNC head following the resignation of Debbie Wasserman Schultz. In theory, that arrangement was only temporary, but CNN made it permanent as late as two weeks ago in the wake of hacked emails showing she provided questions in advance to the Hillary Clinton campaign.

Trump is now at 45 percent with likely voters, up seven points from his low of 38 percent earlier in the month. Hillary Clinton is at 47 percent while Gary Johnson is at four percent and Jill Stein is at two percent. That marks a seven point jump for Trump in just four days. Trump’s opponent Hillary Clinton has seen her numbers drop three points in the same time period, making a 10 point swing in Trump’s favor.
