Out in the wild internet you can find all sorts of homemade guns. Even a 12 gauge handgun, which isn’t a common thing to build. This aspiring gunsmith out in the boonies built one which resembles a 1911 pistol. Its not quite a Diablo 12 gauge handgun in quality and craftsmanship, but this does work as you'll see. The thing is shooting a gun built from a well known gun manufacturer is fine because its a trust issue. You know its not going to blow up in your face or takes your hand off. But, if your buddy saids, he...

Everyone loves shotguns whether its for hunting or home defense, shotgun usually comes up first as the most preferred to have. Then, theres the talk of either having a 12 gauge or a 20 gauge, which is the better? Probably the best answer will always be that "depends". The 12 gauge will have more kick than the 20 gauge. To some folks they don’t mind or like the harder recoil. 12 Gauge For hunters that prefer the larger shot size (4 shot) and heavier loads, go with the Mossberg 500 12 gauge. Good for the gobblers and turkeys that don’t...

Have you ever been out on a hunt and you had to shoot your 12-gauge on a small game up close? Unfortunately, your game wasn’t worth to keep due to being torn up to shreds. The folks from Short Lane Gun Adapters noticed this concern among hunters and they have a solution. Short Lane have whats called the Stack-N-Pack adapters for the 12-gauge. This applies to the hinge action shotgun (single shot or double barrel). Using a 12-gauge is an overkill for the small game at close range. Having the ability to fire a 20-gauge or a .410 bore shot...

The Gatling gun is one of the best-known early rapid-fire spring loaded, hand cranked weapons and a forerunner of the modern machine gun. Invented by Richard Gatling, it is known for its use by the Union forces during the American Civil War in the 1860s, which was the first time it was employed in combat. What about the 12-gauge you ask? This video from "Made Smith's Enterprises, LLC" posted on Facebook. They highlight this modified hand-cranked gatling gun that spits out 12-gauge shotgun shells at an awesome rate. This may not be legal in all states but man wouldn’t you...

Have you seen these slamfire gun? Basically, you have a barrel that is separate from the receiver, and there is a fixed firing pin at the back end here that sets off the round whenever you push the barrel to the rear. Some survivalist preppers have experimented by building them with steel pipes. This fella from Royal Nonsuch Youtuber have created several variations, including this one that shoots a 12 gauge shotgun shell. One of the downside to a slam fire gun is that its basically a one shot deal. Though there have been mocks that houses a hopper similar...
  • How not to fire a 12 Guage Pistol or Sawed off Shotgun

This short video shows how not to fire a 12 gauge pistol/Sawed off shotgun. The link is below. http://i.imgur.com/HXFJbBT.mp4 The video shows the person firing with a less than firm grip on the firearm.  Shotguns shells can develop considerable recoil.  Without a firm grip, and only using one hand, the firearm flies out of the shooter's hand and smacks him in the face. It could have been worse. Occasionally a shooter with a weak grip will find that the firearm escapes his grasp while the trigger finger stays engaged. The firearm then may fire one or more shots as...
  • Does any manufacturer make a 12 gauge pump youth model?

It's for my wife's birthday...She is insistent on a 12 gauge but she is only 4'11" and her arms are not long enough for my 1897 Winchester...or any others she has tried. I try to convince her that a 20 gauge slug will kill a deer! I'm not sure if they even make a youth size 12.
  • I bought my first gun

I finally broke down and purchased my first gun for home protection. It's the Mossberg 500 12 gauge. It has a short barrel and is great for in the home use. It even comes with a pistol grip but I wont attach that unless it everything goes all "beyond thunderdome" on us. Going to take my wife out and make sure she knows how to handle it. I felt a shotgun was better and safer for an in home protection mechanism in our case. Heck, just the pump-action noise is enough to send someone packing. Anyway, in for a penny...
  • 12ga Autoloader Shotguns: Any Recommendations?

    12/28/2008 6:14:14 PM PST · by GusBreacher · 110 replies · 4,883+ views
I'm looking to buy a 12ga, autoloader/semi-auto 12ga, and I'm needing some sage advice. I've read that the US Military has used these. Beyond that, I know zip about shotguns, except that I have my Grandpa's 10ga, single barrel, cracked stock, which hasn't been fired in 50+ years. (A gunsmith is going to work that piece long before I ever do. It's a "mantle-hanger", for now.) Can anyone offer me some firsthand experience, or opinions on some units to try/buy? Price? I'd like to stay under $1,000 if possible, including sight, case, cleaning kit, 500rnds.
