WASHINGTON -- A deal collapsed Wednesday to include multiple Department of Veterans Affairs reforms in a spending bill that Congress formulated to prevent a government shutdown.

Earlier this week, the bill was set to contain a measure to overhaul the VA Choice program, which veterans use to access private-sector medical care. A deal reached between key House and Senate lawmakers on VA oversight also included an expansion of benefits for veteran caregivers, as well as a plan to initiate a systematic review of VA infrastructure, with the intention of disposing of aging and underused facilities nationwide.

My prescription co-pays soared. All due to the Defense Authorization Act of 2018. We have tricare for life and I paid over 100.00 for 3 prescriptions. So much for the promises made. Husband served 3 tours in Korea and 2 in Nam

and I was stunned at the prescription co-pays going UP. Never should have passed the defense authorization bill. Military retirees will have to deal with the increase and the raise they got is a joke

When I served my DD-214 said health care for free for life. Now I get nothing because it’s means tested. I can’t even complain about my share going up. But such is life and when I’m BROKE I guess I’ll get my VA Health Care Bene’s back.

Bud Day, a true hero fought for healthcare for the veterans many years ago. Looks like they want to level things out for civilians . I am so sorry about your situation...my co-pays have gone up twice and I am expecting them to go up again in a year or two.
