How true. Granted our deficit/debt is out of control now, but I shudder to think of what things would be like with the tax and spenders were in control. Not only would our debt be sky high, but our taxes would be out of control too. The high taxes would lead to job loss which would then lead to increased deficits/debts. No matter how bad things get, you can always count on dumbocrats to make them worse. That's why I think the '06 elections are so important. We really need to maintain our majorities.

Seriously. If there was any doubt that there's no reasoning with the islamofascists, this should relieve them. Brutal and disgusting.

Wow, that was a really well thought out response filled with FACTS and REASON. Thanks for addressing my issues, I think I understand now. Clearly this administration is absolved of EVERYTHING. I never knew how convincing arguments could be when they contain words ENTIRELY in CAPS. Thanks for the LESSON.

Sigh.....Well, time for me to head home. Feel free to use this time to call me a myriad of names, or you could actually address my questions. Perhaps you'll just put more blame on a city in ruins rather than look to where damage could have been prevented. Surprise me.

Now that I've answered your questions:
You mention billions of dollars being pumped into New Orleans to equip first responders, care to back that up with any proof?

I've read of many requests for mere MILLIONS to reinforce the levees which were breached years before this disaster occured, which was never received. So, how about posting some FACTS with regards to that.

Also, if an emergency declaration was declared on the 26th (according to the White House) and FEMA takes anywhere from 72 to 96 hours (it takes that long to provide essential support to a disaster? Did it take that long on 9/11?), why is it that nothing was seen on a Federal level until the 2nd?

As for the buses, you're damn right they should have been put to use. That could have been another few hundred people rescued or put out of harms way, but nothing in comparison with what a fully coordinated Federal effort could have been capable of. Are you suggesting that thousands couldn't have been saved if a coordinated Federal effort had been put in place in time? Helicopters used wherever possible to lift people out of that insanity? Helicopters used to drop food and water when it was necessary (no, I don't mean yesterday). A military presence in place to keep a semblance of order. Lemme guess, it was too dangerous or difficult for them to get in? The most well trained and efficient military in the world and somehow they weren't able to tread where the intrepid reporters of CNN were? Are you planning on answering these questions or just posing more of your own?

Wow, you just don't get it do you. Yes, Blanco should have requested help from the Gov't before she did, did I ever defend Blanco? Does that mean that the Gov't is absolved of all responsibility until it receives a formal request? Give me a break. If Giuliani hadn't requested assistance on September 11th, did that mean that the Bush administration didn't have to do anything but wait for people to die en masse? This is a ridiculous argument. Now, as for the WAPO article, don't you think Louisiana could have used that assistance WHILE people were dying and in desperate need of help. Why is the Mayor of N.O. issuing orders for evacuees to be removed by force? Well, primarily because the area is a disease infested cess pool. If the Feds were going about this, it wouldn't be incumbent upon local authorities. So, just when does the administration become accountable? Now, having answered all of your questions that never begged to be answered, care to answer any of MY questions?

Neither freaking or running, and you've still yet to answer my questions. Instead, you seem intent to pose questions which don't need to be asked. You're asking me to defend Louisiana's 'leadership'? Why? This was a royal screwup on all levels. I'll wait for a response, but sanctimonious idealogues are good at bailing as soon as they start losing an argument.

Why is it that you're asking me to defend the Louisiana locals when I've never done anything of the sort? I'm not letting Blanco off the hook, I'm just not letting this administration off the hook either. Why is it that you won't answer my question? And you mention billions of dollars being pumped into New Orleans to equip first responders, care to back that up with any proof? You got me, I'm a dim because I don't mindlessly follow propaganda from both sides. Yes, Blanco did a piss poor job in the days prior and following Katrina. BUT, a disaster of this magnitude, could not be handled solely locally by any stretch of the imagination. And to say that FEMA only advises and provides aid money is ludicrous. People are talking about blame, and believe me, there is plenty of blame to be passed around. If there was food and water available, plus means of distributing them (helicopters), why wasn't it distributed ASAP instead of days after? Yes, the dims in charge in Louisiana have their share of blood on their hands, but this goes up much higher than them.

Well, as of August 26th, the day which Blanco declared an emergency, President Bush authorized DHS and FEMA to coordinate disaster relief for affected areas. When relief was supposed to come so much ahead of time at a Federal level, I find it hard to blame local authorities for response shortcomings. So when klinton appointees come in during a period of shortcomings, you can excuse me if I don't join in with the back patting and see this as a failure on a FEDERAL level. I had cousins in Louisiana whom I didn't hear from until yesterday and I thank god that they got out with what little injuries they have. They still have friends and family that they haven't heard from, I'm beginning to doubt some of them will be heard from again. Once again, I am upset and am not about to give credit where it's not due. I have never been more let down by this administration.

42% say he's done a bad or terrible job and this is a good thing? Granted, nothing could have been done to fully prevent this tragedy, but there's so much that can be done now. We have fire fighters over there now, our nation's heroes, who are reduced to handing out FEMA flyers. Meanwhile, local munipalities are paying for their absence. Isn't that why we have FEMA in the first place? Why was Witt sent in? When Bush came to office in 2001, I thought we had seen the last of klinton's appointments and now it looks as if Bush's FEMA is being bailed out by him? I can't give credit where it's not due.

Now normally I send these emails directly into my trash bin, but my obnoxious moron of a brother in law, in the midst of thousands of people in harms way and our President once again stepping up to the plate to guide our country through crisis, decides to send me a link to another divisive DUmmie discussion about the election. Despite two elections decided LEGALLY, by the rule of LAW, the DUmmies, rather than doing their part in a time of national crisis to make things better in our country, are rehashing issues that have been resolved time and time again. I am SEETHING mad, not just at my brother in law for sending me this tripe (I'm barely on speaking terms with him to begin with), but for these @*@#%! DUmmies who insist on dividing this country at every chance they can get. I attempted to peruse the thread and debunk the entire thread, but I couldn't stay there for more than 30 seconds without wanting to vomit. I know they have a right to post what they wish just as we do, but at a time like this?!?! Don't they realize the damage they're doing to this country? Can you believe people actually believe this crap? Once again, I barely talk to the guy, but I'd love to send him something to shut him up once and for all (and believe me, I've done many a reply to all).

Yeah, this is ridiculous. I bought a diesel because of reduced fuel consumption and the assumption that diesel would remain cheap, atleast cheaper than premium. This morning it cost me $60 bucks to fill up my F-250 and even though I'm trying to use it for work purposes only, I still find myself filling it up once a week. If I'm experiencing such difficulties, I can only imagine what our truckers are going through right now. They're what are keeping this country running. If more of them are unable to keep their jobs, I don't know what will happen.

I have no doubt in my mind that Bush will succeed. That is not to say that he doesn't need our support, but I have every confidence that he, like the Great Ronald Wilson Reagan, will defeat the liberal traitors who attempt to undermine this great country. And also like Reagan, who single handedly saved the world from the threat of Communism, Bush will go down in history as the President who saved the world from the threat of islamofascism.
