There is no easy answer to your question.

Supposedly the child support is for the purpose of taking care of the children. However there is no accounting. Once the mother gets the money she can do any damn thing she wants to with it.

Here are my observations:

Women are far more venomous at making false accusations in court. Men rarely do so. Such things affect the judge.

In general judges for whatever reason seem to be prejudicial against the husband. They are also anxious to throw the man in jail - which is hardly practical since you can’t make child support payments from jail.

Women have the ability to take the man to court multiple times and the judge will inevitably award attorney’s fees.

If the man has custody it is another game.

The woman can with good legal advice avoid going to court for a long period of time. If you ever get a judgment against her - provided you have the money for legal fees - she can go back to court and claim some form of change of circumstances. That strategy won’t work for the man. Once you get a judgment the situation is generally handled by the lower people in the legal system. Those are without doubt feminist women. As in we’ll have someone call you back - yeah I’m still waiting. The alternative is to go back to court and ask for an enforcement of the judgment. Do you realize how fast attorney’s fees can add up? Do you realize how many times you can go back to court to enforce a judgment? The woman can bleed you dry and the court system doesn’t care - or else it regards its job as providing work for attorneys.

And then it isn’t over. There is no limit to the number of times she can take you back to court to get custody back.

As far as I can tell the system is set up to punish the father.

If you are involved in one of these messes, never ever miss a court appointment because the judge will automatically award whatever the wife will ask for. Even then it’s not that simple. I flew half way across the country for a deposition only to have the wife’s attorney cancel the deposition an hour ahead of time. There are many other games. You just have to look out for them. They are designed to wear you down and bankrupt you.

kattracks, I have mixed emotions regarding tatoos. Many years ago due to a boring weekend, a bottle of Jack Daniels, and some Columbian, I tattooed a deaths head on my wrist using drafting ink and a dissecting needle. No one knows its there since I always wear long sleeve shirts. However when my daughter went and got a tatoo on her leg I was ready to strangle her.

Everyone can pave their own path to hell.

I hate tell you but there are simpler ways to disrupt the water supply and create mass panic. And no I am not going to post them.

A comment on the Saudis in the US. They own half of Texaco refining and marketing in the east. ALL of the oil refined is Saudi crude. I have no idea what they own in other oil companies. They aren't going away.

I am 56 and find that there is no one interested. Even the low paying state jobs get up to 200 applicants. Have you noticed that most of the bag boys in the grocery store are over 60?

Perhaps I will figure out a way to get by. Perhaps I won't.

The hill country is beautiful and it doesn't rain all the time like it does here. Do an internet search (hill country texas) and you will find a lot of information. There is a lot of open areas with no one around. If I have to sell this place I may move there or Arizona. East Texas is pretty nice too. Especially if you are raising kids. The food is good there. However the air is terrible because of all the refineries and chemical plants. It also rains a lot there. If you go west of hill country the land is very dry and flat. holly@gru.net

Texas would be a good alternative. I would suggest the hill country or if you can stand the heat the fort davis area. The problem with Texas is that it is infested by texans.

Interesting. I just spent $16 to mail a certified mail with a manuscript and the SOBs lost it. That will be the end of my use of their services.

I moved to the other coast. Can't get out there anymore. Sounds like fun though.

The rural areas of north Florida are good unless you need a job. I lived in CA for a while. Big mistake. Here I can shoot coons in my front yard. Try to do that in CA.

I appreciate your comments. However having worked with both of the characters, there is nothing to commend either of them for. Perhaps that is the main statement of the story.

The larger story I am finishing finally is about a girl who is not human and there is a lot more character development. She is more than I ever want to deal with in real life.

I don't know. This one runs 1100 words. I just thought it was funny since I had once worked with the people in the story.

I am finishing another one that is over 90,000 words. Not likely to post that one here. If anyone has an idea of where to go talk to me.

If I don't find a market I start living in my car. And then the cat won't get anything to eat or else I will eat the cat.

No one will accept the thing for publication so you all might as well enjoy it. Believe it or not this is a real story.

If you are ever in Sabine Pass (and I can't imagine why you or anyone else would ever be) stop at the one place in town and try the fried crabs. You will delight yourself, cauterize your tounge and get your daily minimum requirement of grease for a month.

You guys are making me hungry. I lived in Cajun country enough years to find that I love the food. Can't get it here. I do have some kick ass peppers if anyone needs some seed.
