I hear you. But Obama didn’t put us there in the first place. That was Bush. Bush’s foreign policy “chops” also got us into Iraq for no good reason. Blaming only Obama leaves out a huge part of the story and a significant part of the blame.

Why? Why don’t we get the heck out of there? We have no business being there.

Abortion is the number 1 killer in the United States PERIOD. Blacks, whites, all races and genders, abortion kills more human beings than all other causes COMBINED.

I've been on FR longer than nearly everyone left here, save JimRob only. And I can tell you by direct observation that since Romney announced his candidacy, the most vile, hateful and bigoted Mormon-bashing has been given free license on FR and nearly all of the Mormons that I knew here - hard-working Christian conservatives - have been driven off of this site. Whether they were Romney supporters or not.

The haters have only produced hate and division here and they've done so with JimRob's blessing. By their fruits shall ye know them.

Hmmm...I'd say that the people who attack Mormons on FR are primarily made up of Free Republic's haters, bigots, and holier-than-thou harpies who wouldn't know a good Christian or how to act like one if their eternal salvation depended on it.

Oh, I don't know about that. Lot's of good, decent Christian folks around here. Surrounded by them, in fact, as far as the eye can see.

Well, I don’t know about all that. But whatever it is that you preach and practice here on FR, THAT surely ain’t Christianity. Not any sort of Christianity that any decent Christian knows.

It is the Honda Civic GX. I drive the 2004 model. It is the best car I've ever owned and the fuel economy is awesome. I pay $1.25 per gallon of gas equivalent and I get over 30mpg AND I get to drive for free in the Express Lane during my 100 mile daily commute.

The Honda Civic GX has the cleanest burning engine of any mass produced vehicle on the road.

Get back to me when we’ve cut the budget to the point where we’re spending less than we’re bringing in and we start paying the debt down. Until then, both major parties are betraying our country by chaining it in debt to our enemies. Our children and grandchildren will be slaves because both major parties are corrupt and stupid and their actions are destroying our nation.

I frequently read a non-partisan financial blog called zerohedge.com. The blogger there and some of the blogs contributors put the blame for these riots on Bernanke and Geitner and the Obama admin’s economic blunders. I’m stil trying to see the direct link between undermining the US Dollar, as the aforementioned have been busily doing, and the unrest in Egypt, Tunisia, and other nearby states. The links likely exist, but I guess I need a little more explanation.

Good stuff, but you haven’t gone far enough. The $12 billion “surplus” would need to be applied to paying down our debt. We can’t just keep paying the interest, we actually need to pay down $14 trillion in debt and $12 billion is a drop in a huge bucket. Even if we could find $500 billion a year to pay off the debt it would take us over a quarter of a century to pay off the debt. What are the chances of staying on the kind of budget that cuts spending far more drastically than what you’re showing for 28 years? It is inevitable that we are going to collapse under this debt, default on the debt, or have blood in the streets over the severe austerity required to come up with $500 billion per year. Decades of criminally insane spending has brought us here and it will be our children and grandchildren who will suffer the catastrophic consequences of it. This makes me so sick about the future of our country that I want to throw up.

You actually undermine it by making it an unwelcome place for those who are members of the most politically conservative religion in America. You are conflating their bigotry and hatred with reasoned "refutation" and discourse. I put refutation in quotes, because in their case they're attempting to use lies, mockery, and hate to "refute" something about which they've proven themselves to be ignorant.
