A protest in Portland’s east side escalated early Saturday morning after an hours-long standoff between demonstrators and police. Officers
used stun grenades, pepper spray, impact munitions and physical force to push a crowd of 300 protesters away from a police building on East Burnside Street. Police detained multiple people as they advanced through residential streets. The response by police followed a barrage of eggs thrown by protesters at officers. Police had declared the gathering unlawful more than three hours earlier and repeatedly warned people to leave. Early in the night, police arrested a photojournalist and accused him of trespass. [SATIRE] U.S.—Somber members of the press offered their thoughts and prayers that someone would start some violence at the gun rights rally in Virginia today. Reporters
expressed their grief and condolences as the violence they hyped has so far failed to materialize. "Nobody has so much as fired a shot. This is an unbelievable tragedy," said one teary-eyed MSNBC reporter, clearly caught up in the anguish of the moment. "It's tragic that we live in a country where reporters who are just minding their own business trying to push a narrative can have everything ripped away from them in an...

I think it was over Thanksgiving dinner. My
mother's best friend, a dear woman who has been nothing but good to me, decided to poke some gentle fun, Dayton Ohio-style, at me. Actually, let me be more specific. It wasn't Dayton. The conversation took place in Kettering. It's a suburb of Dayton. A small suburb called Oakwood separates Dayton and Kettering. "Ted," my mom's friend began, "what's with these terrible descriptions of our city? The way you write, you'd think this was some bleak post-industrial wasteland." She motioned out the window to her manicured lawn, punctuated by a set of...

LEFT-WING CARTOONIST TED RALL FIRED BY LA TIMES FOR LYING ABOUT LAPD

| 7/28/2015 | JOHN NOLTE
Ted Rall, a noxious left-wing political cartoonist who has advocated violence against conservatives and on more than one occasion revealed himself as a racist, finally went too far, even for the same LA Times that champions those who threaten Jews with curb-stomping. According
to the Times, in a May 11 article, Rall outright lied about a 2001 experience he had with the LAPD. Ted Rall — a freelance cartoonist whose work appears regularly in The Times — described an incident in which he was stopped for jaywalking on Melrose Avenue in 2001. Rall said he was thrown up against a...
