Free Republic has always had a sizable contingency of libertarian thinkers most of whom are too independent to form a cohesive group.
It is difficult to form a political party with loners.
Please remember, small-l libertarian thought is sine qua non to America's founders and those that built this formerly great nation.

That is a fashionable perversion of the founders' core philosophy that sometimes rears its self-absorbed head, but is quite historically deranged.
