Colossians 2:16

Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day—

…..did you want to hear that?

“Forget about “Christmas” and “Easter” those are made up calendar days NOT in the Hebrew calendar.....imho”

The Church piggybacked onto existing celebrations to make pagans feel more comfortable. A very good idea and the days are symbolic events anyway. Christmas took the place of Saturnalia, a Winter Festival tied to the movement of Saturn.

Easter is tied to spring pagan fertility celebrations, hence the use of “eggs”. They painted the eggs red to symbolize the blood of the womb the eggs came from. It happens around the vernal equinox, the start of spring.

Apparently, this plan worked very well. The spread of Christianity was swift and massive and done without the help of mass media we have today.

You have to read the old testament brother. It’s all in there. Read it. Study it. Everything is in there. I promise. Thank me later. I love you.

See Mark 15:42. He died on the eve of the Sabbath, so on a Friday. His body had to be taken down before sunset when the Sabbath began.

Dude, if a person dies and rises from the dead…that’s what folks are going to remember. No one cares about the “day/date” 2000 years later.

It doesn’t change the message.

The fact that people all over the world are concerned with how stuff is written, rather than what is written.

“Christmas took the place of Saturnalia, a Winter Festival tied to the movement of Saturn.”

That has been totally debunked. The myth was traced back to two men in Europe in the 1700s, one of whom hated Catholics. Christians were observing Dec. 25 before Saturnalia was innovated, and possibly by the Roman emperor who observed when the Christians were celebrating.

But it will take possibly two hundred more years for it to be laid to rest.

I’ve seen you post this on multiple threads, and I honestly have NO idea what you’re trying to say/prove? So what if churches/ people are counting the wrong day of the week to celebrate His resurrection? Like, does it really matter? Of course modern churches will hold this commemoration on a Sunday, their day of worship.
& Did they count Leap Days back then? Isn’t the Jewish calendar off by days (months?) anyway at this point?

Or are you trying to negate the truth of God/Jesus in some way?
I know that my Redeemer Lives and that’s really what matters.

why would we use the Hebrew calendar if they do not believe that Jesus is the son of the Lord?

The LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob gave the Hebrew calendar. It is in the Bible.

They are Jews and it is through their lives, testimony, and martyrdom that you have had the privilege to read about them and Him. Those Jews who do not (yet) believe do not take away anything from what those Jews who do believe have done in the service of God. They are a great cloud of witnesses.

Twelve Jewish apostles, a Jewish mother and step-father, and myriads of Jews who believed, including some on the Sanhedrin (Nicodemus and Joseph of Aramathea), and a great company of priests who were obedient to the faith. Their word, which is His Gospel, has gone out into all the world.

Antisemitism burns like a fire, a virus until it consumes one.

How did the people living in the year 25 BC know what year it was?
