what conceivable basis is there for saying this? There is nothing in scripture which suggests Satans power against Job was specific to that situation. Just because God chose to reveal that specific case in his revelation doesn’t mean there couldn’t have been many other similar situations. There are many scholars who contend that Job’s tribulations are symbolic of the battle all Godly men and women face in the battle against Satan.
