Prosperity Gospel Millionaire Kenneth Copeland Screams at his Followers Unemployed due to Coronavirus Cutbacks 'Don't You Dare Stop Tithing!'

In a typical display of unbridled greed, sleazy televangelist Kenneth Copeland warns followers that even if they lose their job because of the coronavirus pandemic they must keep giving him money because Jesus.

Today we bring you Old Demon Eyes himself, Kenneth Copeland, and be forewarned, he is really, really mad at unemployed, coronavirus quarantined Christians. Just when I think that Laodicean crooks like Kenneth Copeland, Paula White and all the others cannot possibly get any lower or more disgusting, they do. But Kenneth Copeland, as you will see in this video, is in a class all by himself when it comes to sleaze.

FEAR OF THIS CORONAVIRUS IS FAITH IN ITS ABILITY TO HURT YOU OR KILL YOU. THE FEAR OF ‘WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO? I’M GETTING LAID OFF AT WORK!’

HEY! YOUR JOB’S NOT YOUR SOURCE. IF IT IS, YOU’RE IN TROUBLE. JESUS IS YOUR SOURCE! WHATEVER YOU DO RIGHT NOW, DON’T YOU STOP TITHING! DON’T YOU STOP SOWING OFFERINGS.

‘WELL, THEY WON’T LET US GO TO CHURCH!’

WELL, EMAIL IT IN, THEN! TEXT TOGETHER. SOMETHING. BUT YOU GET YOUR TITHE IN THAT CHURCH IF YOU HAVE TO GO TAKE IT DOWN THERE AND DROP IT OFF… STICK IT UNDER THE DOOR OR SOMETHING. YOU GET THAT TITHE IN THAT CHURCH, YOU GET THAT OFFERING IN THAT CHURCH, AND THEN YOU GO HOME AND DO WHAT YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO DO.

Show me some scripture where poverty and want and sickness and disease are what God offers as blessings. Not anecdotal, or opinion statements.

Believe what you choose to believe, brother. Or what you choose NOT to believe.

And enjoy the benefits of it. But you can’t really gripe about or fight to improve your circumstances.

If you don’t believe God wants you wealthy and prosperous, don’t fight with Him. Don’t hunt for raises or promotions or stock-market wins.

If you don’t believe He wants you healed -— well and healthy -— don’t fight Him over it. No need for medicines or docs or dentists.

If you don’t know whether He does or doesn’t, don’t fight with those who DO have a belief.

Either way, if you’re a Christian we’re on the same side.

BTW, what was in Judas’ bag? He was the disciples’ treasurer. For what?

And how did the disciples and the apostles travel and live and eat?

And lastly, do you believe it is possible to CHOOSE to live a life as an ascetic?

By your theology Bernie Madoff was a very godly man truly blessed.

But whatever.

Amen!

The riches of this world are fading fast before our eyes.

Now you’re mischaracterizing what I wrote!

Just like the press does Trump.

How about dealing me on what I say and believe. Not some straw man you set up to knock down.

You must not feel good about the argument as it stands, so you feel the need to create a stance no one has.

BTW...

Does Madoff come across as “blessed” to you?

I think our definitions of blessings must differ.

That may be the problem.

Like Coronavirus, Copeland preys on the elderly.

There should be a vaccine against snake oil salesmen like him.

For starters:

"it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God." - Matthew 19:24

"And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”" - Mark 10:21

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth. and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven ," - Matthew 6:19-20

Secondly, your claim of "anecdotal evidence" refuses to recognize the character of Jesus - where was Jesus' material wealth? (2 2 Corinthians 8:9 ). The Pharisees were rich - they became rich on their religion, those very qualities you glorify - and Jesus despised them. He even ridiculed their "tithing" (Mathew 23:23).

John 16:33 - Jesus promises we will have trouble on earth. To focus on these troubles is to ignore the eternal gift of Christ. It's the infantile focus on the gift - rather than the Giver. Prosperity gospel is not Biblical.

To preach those things that are not biblical may be to lead the little ones astray. Perhaps, even now, those who execute God's final judgement are fitting a millstone for your neck.

Some weak tea there, cap.

First, you don’t need to be insulting. I not only recognize the character of Jesus, I am believing in it and counting on it! I also believe His and the Father’s own words.

Second, of course we will have trouble and threats and attacks. Satan is the prince of this world, after all. But we are already victors over them and are meant to stand in that victory and “fight” back against the “perceptions” cast at us by Satan and his.

You talk about a millstone being created for my neck. That’s really something there, hoss. Did you really mean to make that statement? To another Christian?

As far as preaching things that are unbiblical, I can load you up with scriptures backing up what I say; that God sees provision and health as blessings and poverty and disease/sickness as cursings. You have not provided one that says the opposite.

You do not quote a single, solitary scripture where God or Jesus says that poverty or disease is a BLESSING. He does make the point that wealth can distract, be abused, be hard to handle, etc., but He never calls either wealth or disease a blessing. But then almost EVERY good thing can be turned into a sin through abuse. He does not withhold things from us just because we might abuse them later. We’d have almost nothing.

Being wealthy is not necessarily a sign of righteousness/blessing from God. Neither is robust health. Neither is having a family. Neither is having a job. So to say Bernie Madoff, or the Pharisees, or any other sinning individual or group has possessions or health is a sign that they are not blessings is just ridiculous. And you probably already know this.

Let’s go at this a different way: Instead of trying to attack what you THINK I believe and practice, why don’t you lay out what YOU believe about:

1. Righteousness, and a Christian’s state therein;
2. Sickness and disease, and what you believe about them (are they a curse, a natural state, a gift from God...what?)
3. Provision - including food, prosperity, favor with God and man, wealth - and what you believe about them (are they a curse, a natural state, a gift from God...what?

So, do you believe when you are sick that is God’s will? If you are poor, is that God’s desire for you? And do you believe that it is His will for you to fight against His will to recover from those situations? If your child or spouse is sick, is that still His will? Do you instantly try to get them “out” of His will so they feel better?

Lay it out so I understand your thinking/belief system better. Because, if you’re a Christian, I’m a little flummoxed by your inability to tell me what you believe His will actually IS.

No Madoff doesn’t strike me as blessed.

He comes across as a scumbag that scammed people out of their money with promises he couldn’t and had no intention of keeping.

Like people who tell others to send them stuff and God will reward them in turn.

In my original post to you I stated that it was up to each person to make their own decision on Copeland’s motives.

Look at His will as the result, His will he done. Jesus, nor the apostles, were financially wealthy or lived lives that could be consider blessed by your standards.

That refutes your claim that God rewards with earthly gifts, or wishes those for his most devout.

As such, your theology is wrong, misdirected and dangerous.

You don’t think that Jesus or the apostles lived lives that were blessed, eh?

You can’t demonstrate any of that with scripture, either. I don’t believe Jesus and the disciples wandered around like a bunch of sick beggars. I believe they were in perfect health and extreme vigor. And I believe they didn’t wander around in want. They were fed by their own hands or others’. Their taxes were even paid out of money they didn’t earn (the fish with the coin in its mouth).

Not only did they have enough, but they had an ABUNDANCE. Judas kept a moneybag for the group and was the treasurer. Even at the Last Supper, the other disciples thought Jesus was telling Judas to go buy what was needed for the “feast” and to give the rest to the poor.

Not only that, but the disciples’ cloaks were valuable enough to sell and have enough money to buy a sword.

So, they weren’t destitute. Besides, even if they were, the Bible says, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich” (2 Cor. 8:9)

Like I said, you can’t provide scripture showing poverty and disease as blessings.

Your opinion about the reasons for Jesus’ wealth or lack of it notwithstanding, I can provide scriptures for what I’m stating and you cannot.

Jesus was fussed at regularly because of those (rich sinners!) He dined with and for the expensive perfumes used on Him, etc. and He chastised those who fussed as not really getting it. Which was the original point of the article this thread is about.

I did not come on here to “preach” anything, but only to point out that accusing Copeland of something he didn’t do was wrong. When I mentioned some of my beliefs (not preaching, only stating), some (including you) decided to take it on yourselves to point out my heresies and “false teachings”, as though your piety and spiritual understanding is greater than mine.

Now, for grins, I wanna ask you a couple of questions (of course, other questions I’ve asked you up to now, you’ll note, you continue to refuse to answer):

1. Have you ever been sure you were right about something, but it later turned out you weren’t?
2. So, in this case, if it turns out that you are wrong and I am right, who’s doing the false teaching and positing heresies?

Lastly, I’ll say it again. Post scripture showing that God considers sickness/disease and poverty to be blessings and prosperity and health to be curses. Otherwise, don’t tell me I’M being un-Biblical when I can swamp you with scripture that backs me up.

Be very wary of doctrine or beliefs that you can only support by a few vague scriptures that you must “interpret” to mean what you need to support that belief. And for sure, don’t attempt to use that to contradict an enormous mass of clear, straight-forward scriptures that clearly teach what you attempt to disprove.

You just entrench yourself in error, and your desire to be “right” and call the other fellow out in error will overwhelm any spark of wonderment about the real truth of a matter.

"...Jesus, nor the apostles, were financially wealthy or lived lives that could be consider blessed by your standards."

That's your quote. And you couldn't be more, astronomically, 180 degrees out of phase, wrong!

This IS the standard!

Magnificently successful, vigorous good health, the power of God at their command, the presence of the Lord and his miracle-working power as a continual experience, financial abundance, miraculous provision and constant victory.

Probably the disciples' biggest problem was their faith; their inability to even conceptualize the truths of His willingness to heal, to deliver, to save, to prosper and to WIN (victory) over Satan and everything of his. And to do all of that when everyone else said it was an impossibility!

I am SEEKING and believing for a life like that.

You seem to believe that's not biblical. You probably believe God/Jesus just can't or don't wanna do that for us anymore. We disagree, brother.

So, again...you took a swing and you completely missed.

Now who’s drawing assumptions? Instead, the Bible addresses these situations contemporarily. Paul spoke directly of his suffering. First Peter is written to churches suffering persecution. Steven’s demise was earthly, not spiritual.

To say that God always blessed His faithful with worldly blessing is not only not true, it is a complete misunderstanding of Jesus’ proffered salvation.
