Catechism Will be Updated to Include Ecological Sins, Pope Says

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Following through on a proposal made at the Synod of Bishops for the Amazon, Pope Francis said there are plans to include a definition of ecological sins in the church's official teaching.

"We should be introducing -- we were thinking -- in the Catechism of the Catholic Church the sin against ecology, ecological sin against the common home," he told participants at a conference on criminal justice Nov. 15.

Members of the International Association of Penal Law were in Rome Nov. 13-16 for the conference, which centered on the theme, "Criminal Justice and Corporate Business."

Pope Francis also denounced the abuse of law and legislation to justify acts of violence and hatred.

Today's throwaway culture, as well as other "psycho-social phenomenon" pose threats to the common good while insidiously promoting a "culture of hate," he said. These threats, he added, often take the form of "symbols and actions that are typical of Nazism."

"I must confess," the pope said, departing from his prepared remarks, "that when I hear some speeches, some person in charge of order or the government, I am reminded of Hitler's speeches in 1934 and 1936."

"They are actions typical of Nazism that, with its persecution of Jews, gypsies and people of homosexual orientation, represent a negative model par excellence of a throwaway culture and hate," the pope said. "That is what happened in that time and today, these things are reappearing."

Today's "current of punitivism, which claims to solve social problems through the penal system," has not worked, the pope said. Instead, an "elementary sense of justice" must be applied so that "certain conduct for which corporations are usually responsible, does not go unpunished."

Chief among those crimes, he added, are acts that "can be considered as 'ecocide': the massive contamination of air......

You seem to have a special hatred of the Mother of Jesus Christ and dismiss Her as a false "apparation".

Do you believe in the "apparition" of the angel Gabriel at the Annunication to Mary?

Do you believe in the apparitions of Moses and Elias at Christ's Transfiguration?

The hero of the protestants, Martin Luther, even stated he wrestled with the devil and threw an inkwell at him.

Too bad the devil won that wrestling match.

But it seems they're all false apparitions by your personal judgement of "apparations".

The visit at the annunciation and the appearance of Moses and Elijah are well documented in Scripture. Not so the demonic Marian apparitions Catholics like to put so much store in. Ealgeone one does not hate Mary, he just doesn’t follow doctrines of demons and others that point away from Christ and the gospel of Grace as outlined in Scripture.

What about Martin Luther’s wrestles with the devil?

I find it interesting that the Blessed Mother appeared only to Catholics or those willing to accept Her messages and become Catholics.

The apostate Luther was only graced with visits from the devil, and the devil won.

Evidently you misunderstood my post ebb tide. I didn’t ask how to spell a name. I asked you if you know what the gospel is and where it can be found in the Bible. Do you know?

So what is the gospel? What does it say? And where in the Bible is it found? These are real questions with real answers. Not trick.

“Catechism Will Be Updated.. “
........

LOL. Catechism book sales will plummet. No one is paying any attention to Bergoglio as it is.

We certainly won’t pay good money to see his musings in print.

Let him mess with Canon Laws, next. We know it is coming.

Only in your dreams did the devil win. The Church was reformed and millions were delivered from a false works theology. As for your Marian apparitions only to Catholics 1 - prove it, I believe others saw something strange just not the apparition and 2 - so what? Episodes of mass delusion and deception tend to only affect the susceptible. The end result of them was to glorify Mary and get millions more praying the blasphemous rosary and devoting themselves to her not Christ. Demonic.

And when he does you are bound to follow them. Just like you are bound to your catechism. The question is how far down the road of apostasy will the Roman Church go until people wake up and start leaving? I hope many do not follow a corrupt and worse hierarchy to their ruin.

Funny how a religious entity can make up it’s own sins like that - while telling it’s laity that the Blood of Jesus isn’t an indelible thing so they must rely on their priests to save their souls because God the Father and Jesus the Son and Savior won’t deal direct with us...they truly are a sect these days and heading for cult status.

The Holy Spirit will deliver His Church from this evil heretic.

Your church is whatever your leadership, which elected Bergoglio, defines it to be. And Catholics are not to be as evangelicals and determine the validity of current church teaching based upon whether it conflates with past church teaching (though for us that is Scripture). Instead, historical RC church teaching requires submission to what the current leadership says, and how it defines the past*.

But if you will go by ancient church teachings, know that distinctive Catholic teachings are not manifest in the only wholly inspired substantive authoritative record of what the NT church believed (which is Scripture, especially Acts thru Revelation. and which best shows how the NT church understood the OT and gospels).

*'the one duty of the multitude is to allow themselves to be led, and, like a docile flock, to follow the Pastors," "to suffer themselves to be guided and led in all things that touch upon faith or morals by the Holy Church of God through its Supreme Pastor the Roman Pontiff," "of submitting with docility to their judgment," with "no discussions regarding what he orders or demands, or up to what point obedience must go, and in what things he is to be obeyed... not only in person, but with letters and other public documents ;" and 'not limit the field in which he might and must exercise his authority, " for "obedience must not limit itself to matters which touch the faith: its sphere is much more vast: it extends to all matters which the episcopal power embraces," and not set up "some kind of opposition between one Pontiff and another. Those who, faced with two differing directives, reject the present one to hold to the past, are not giving proof of obedience to the authority which has the right and duty to guide them," "Nor must it be thought that what is expounded in Encyclical Letters does not of itself demand consent." You can ignore everything that he teaches that is not scriptural.

Indeed, and the same goes for whatever Catholicism itself teaches.

Or He may just remove it (providing Roman Catholicism truly is the church to which Jesus is referring) and Roman Catholicism ceases to exist. Otherwise, it continues as is and becomes the One World religion of the Tribulation period and is used by the False Prophet and the Antichrist.

Read Revelation 2&3. He did not protect and deliver any of those churches for their sin. He told them to shape up or they would be gone.

And for the record, they didn’t as they are no longer in existence.
