Popes are only human and therefore capable of error and arrogant pride.And yet; the One, True church has NOT found a way to rid itself of them.
Perhaps the time is now (or long past) to formulate some process to do so.
Surely those who voted him into office should have the same power to vote him out!

On April 1, Bp. Steven J. Lopes announced he had issued a decree of excommunication against Fr. Vaughn Treco, pastor of St. Bede the Venerable in suburban Minneapolis, citing "rejection of the magisterial authority of an Ecumenical Council and a series of popes.Just like Luther.
That puts a bunch of lay Catholics in danger, too.
Weird how they'll ex-communicate someone for disagreeing with them but not for blatant and grievous immorality. Those priests, they'll just move around and hide.
You guys are in big trouble.

Sound to me Bishop Lopez wants to get rid of Fr. Treco. Read the article twice and see no reason for this drastic action. Given the pictures in the article, it looks like Fr. Treco is an fairly straight up guy while Bishop Lopez looks like a duffous. Clearly the Peter Principle is at work here.

Not defending Bop Lopes --- he's dead wrong on his suppression of Fr. Treco and the St. Basil parish -- but I deny you can tell a person's sexual orientation from his picture. If he's a (1) Bishop and (2) looks like a fag, then he's a fag. It's basically 100percent certain when you have these two factors together.
