Dear friend, maybe you were raised to believe - as I was - that Jesus (our Lamb and Savior) was crucified on Good Friday. If one does the math... Friday can never work (see charts below). The "Sign of the prophet Jonah" states it all; The ONLY sign that the Lord would give to the Messiah rejecting leadership of Israel and nation was the sign of the most rejected event and individual of the Bible, Jonah and the whale (Jonah 1:17).
"Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth Matt. 12:38-40)." (Matt. 16:4, 12:39, 11:29, Luke 11:30).
One MUST think like a Jew and not a gentile to understand the biblical settings that take place in the Bible. Too many gentile "Christians" see Jesus, the apostles, Israel, her promises and the Bible with a "western" perspective and when one seeks to do that, they err greatly on the many things even to the damnation of their soul (Rom. 11:24, 2 Peter 3:16). Almighty God used His chosen nation, people, Jewish believers, the lunar calendar, their culture, customs and heritage to bring forth the Holy Scriptures and the flavor of them. Jesus (a Jew - Matt. 1, Luke 3:23-38, John 1:10-14, Acts 2:22-33, Acts 7, Rom. 1:1-3, Rev. 22:16) presented the Gospel to the Jews first and when He taught them, He talked and taught them as "Jew to Jew" and used their customs, heritage and society to teach them the wondrous ETERNAL TRUTHS of Almighty God (Matt. 5-7, 13, 15:24, Mark 10:6, John 6, 10, Romans 1:16).
Many to this day who profess to know the Lord Jesus and call themselves Christians, know Him not as set forth by the Holy Scriptures (Matt. 7:21-23, Rom. 10:2-4)? This Passover and Resurrection Sunday may you be sure that you TRULY know the very One who died for our sins and gave His life for us all that we may find forgiveness, pardon and live with Him FOREVERMORE in RIGHTEOUSNESS (Isa. 52:13-15, 53:1-12, John 3:16-17, Acts 4:12, Romans 4:25, Gal. 3:13, 1 Cor. 1:30, 15:1-4, 2 Cor. 5:21, 1 John 3:5, Rev. 1:5-7)!
The Lord Jesus ROSE VICTORIOUSLY from the grave for ALL, but truly how many of the "ALL" will truly trust Him as their Lord and Savior as set forth by the Holy Scriptures?? Tragically, not many (Matt. 7:13-14, Rom. 10:2-4)!
May you be sure that you know the very One who died for your transgressions and rose for your justification! If you are unsure, see for yourself and take, The Gospel of John Challenge!
The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
Worshiping God every day is a good thing. But to keep His Word we must keep one day holy, His Sabbath.
I agree that pentecost was the most important day in history
But it does not make it the Sabbath, the Sabbath is THE day of
rest
Jesus rested on the Sabbath and rose some time on sunday, we can
not change the sabbath from the seventh day to the first day because
it is history, God rested on the seventh day.
I believe we need to take pagan rituals in the church very
serious because Jesus said many shall come in my name a decieve
many.
+1 As others have wisely said, it’s not even near a salvation issue.
We are Saved 100% by Faith, Grace, & Belief in Christ Alone.
Christians however have been hoodwinked over the centuries with new timelines and calendar adjustments by worldly powers to skew the dates/times of many events.
We often make a mockery out of Salvation with pseudo belief systems and man-made rules.
I agree with most of your post. Any part I do not agree with is trivial as the most important thing is to LOVE GOD, and to cleanse our souls to Love even our evil neighbors as that sets us free to Love God in everyone, even if they hide Him deep in their soul.
BiPolar Bob, (love your name).....
Read Jesus’ words to the Pharisees when they criticized Him for healing on the sabbath. It puts the sabbath in proper perspective.
“We are Saved 100% by Faith, Grace, & Belief in Christ Alone.”
Most Christians say Jesus is my Savior and treat Him like a lifeguard that can pluck them out when they are drowning(die)..
While Jesus can do that, He was a rabbi or teacher.
Which would you sooner have, a lifeguard that waits until you are drowning and pulls you out, or a lifeguard that teaches you how to swim?
Jesus taught us how to live in a way that we too can do the things that He does and even more.. John 14.
If you can’t do at least a few of these things you don’t understand His teachings.
1 Corinthians and the entire Book of John spells Salvation out clearly. As do countless other scriptures.
I don’t believe in works based or man-made salvation. Your denomination (Catholic/Church of Christ/Pentecostal?) might however.
I’ve got zero reason to live in fear.
3 Nights
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
So are you saying Jesus fulfilled Scripture and rose early Monday Morning?
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights
One person’s opinion.
So in other words,3 full days began on Thursday night!
Three days
Friday Saturday Sunday
Monday would be 4 days
He was dead Friday during the day, Friday when it was night, Saturday when it was night, Saturday when it was day, Saturday when it was night, Sunday when it was night and Sunday when it was day.
It doesn’t say 72 hours
3 Days, Friday,Saturday,Sunday!
Yup,
Jewish day began at SUNDOWN!
I made My Point.
I simply take it as one writer’s opinion.
So the Easter Tridumm is correct.
Yes mamm, and they use the lunar calendar as Jedus did.
Indeed! Isn’t that wonderful Almighty God ses the whole Bible and Israel to reveal His plan of redemption!
Our Saturday night, Israel’s Sunday morn! : )
