How Can You Share the Gospel with Muslims?
Billy Graham Evangelistic Assoc. ^ | Sep 2016 | Tiffany Jothen

“I will be so happy if my Lord Jesus Christ accepts me as one of His followers. Is it possible if I was born a Muslim?”

That’s a question from a man in the Middle East who reached out to BGEA’s internet evangelism ministry, Search for Jesus, after hearing about Christ through Christian friends.

Search for Jesus has over 500 trained volunteers ready to respond to online visitors with the hope of the Gospel. Two of those volunteers, Brian and Kimberly of North Carolina, spent years as missionaries to Muslims in Southeast Asia and now answer emails from Muslims around the world.

The No. 1 issue Brian and Kimberly deal with in their ministry is whether Jesus is actually God. - They also get lots of questions about supposed corruption of the Bible.

Is Jesus God?

Muslims believe Jesus is separate from God, instead of God in human flesh as Christians believe. Many also think Christians worship multiple gods through their belief in the trinity.

Some helpful Bible verses:

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” —Deuteronomy 6:4

“Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” —John 14:9

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.” —John 1:1-2

Is the Bible Corrupted?

“At the time of Muhammad, his followers were encouraged to read the Bible,” Brian said. “The Bible that Muhammad encouraged them to read is the same Bible we have today.” Yet many Muslims believe it’s been corrupted, partly through various translations.

A great question to ask, Brian said, is which parts have supposedly been corrupted and how they know.

I have had more than a few Muslim co-workers over the years. My experience has been to let them do the reaching out. Some will, most won't.

They know I am Christian because I keep a calendar with Bible verses in my office and a Gideon New Testament on my desk which actually gets read regularly.

I got fired from a previous job because of what I suspect, but cannot prove, was due to my reluctance to worship the secular PC statues erected by King Neb's modern day equivalent. Five months later, I started a better job with more pay and less stress.

From conversion stories I have read from ex-Muslims, it is almost always a conversion through Jesus visiting them in the dream or a vision. I have never read of a Muslim being “convinced” through logic, reason, or comparing Bible verses, etc. It is nearly always an emotional/spiritual/supernatural event that triggers it.

True. I think that witnessing is still important, however, because it helps the seeker to mentally clear away his misunderstandings and roadblocks to faith as a preparatory step. (Is Jesus just a prophet? Are Bible translations accurate? etc)

From the article:

When Kimberly first started sharing her faith, she said, she was overwhelmed by having a person’s soul in the balance. But she reminds herself that the Holy Spirit is also at work, and it’s up to each person what he or she does with the Gospel.

“I am not responsible for making sure they respond a certain way,” Kimberly said. Many will hear it an average of seven times before they respond, she added.

“Maybe I’m number 3, … but the number 3 is just as important as the number 7 because you can’t get to 7 without the 3.”

Witnessing 'prepares the field', so to speak, for the eventual emotional/spiritual/supernatural response.

I challenge you to denounce Jihad, Jizya, Taqqyia, and all of the koran verses that call for my death.

You will not convince me of your god’s power with the blade of your scimitar.

(See. You’re triggered 5 or 6 times already.)

I find it best to remind my self that people are not belief systems they are enslaved by them. when you remind yourself of this it allows you to despise the belief system they have embraced but love the person enough that you can share Christ’s love with them and for them.

How Can You Share the Gospel with Muslims?

Short answer yes.

I know a man who was born and raised a mohammedan. He had a crush on a Christian girl and so he decided to go with her to a revival meeting. He would later tell you that he can not remember who spoke or what they spoke about only that for the first time he felt God speak to him.

He went back the next night and the next.

By the end of the week he knew that he had to become a Christian. Even though it meant grave personal danger.

I know a young lady who was also raised a mohammedan. She stopped by a rally because she liked the music. That night she knew that she had to become a Christian, when she told her mother she kicked her out of the house. She was 12.

There is a reason that mohammedan's try desperately to keep Christianity as far away from them as possible. Just hearing a little is enough to show a hungry heart what it is looking for.

“Jesus was only a prophet.” is just a convenient, although weak, excuse for ignoring The Word (which mooseman did a lot of). Are teachings any less significant if Only A Prophet speaks them? Mooseman claimed to be Only A Prophet, but unlike Jesus, he admits to no relationship with The Almighty. But every prophet of the Old Testament did have a relationship with The Almighty. If one has no relationship with The Almighty, how can one even be a prophet? It's impossible and illogical.

How Can You Share the Gospel with Muslims?

You can't. Because the moment that a Muslim becomes open to receiving the Gospel, he stops being a Muslim.

The key thing is recognizing when this has occurred, so you see your opening.

And also being wary for the possibility that this has NOT really occurred, that you are facing a jihadi who is faking interest in the Gospel, in order to get close.

Have them kneel with hands tied behind their backs. Place a sharp instrument to their throat. Not too sharp though, wouldn’t want to cut the skin. Tell them to renounce Allah or die. When they refuse, begin sawing.

HEY, it is THEIR custom.

Muslims Believe:
You can’t know God. (Christianity says you can.)

I think both are right and both are wrong.

Muslims in colleges are often friendly and reachable. I have shared Jesus with them and become friends. They often are interested.
