If there had been another way and Jesus knew that, I’m pretty sure he would have said to use some other way because why should he die like that if it wasn’t necessary? He didn’t do what He did for the fun of it.
Heretic false teacher. Jesus died on the cross for what purpose then? Hello!
Or allow their members to kneel before idols such as this one and pray to it.
Care to publicly deny that?
Good luck with that theory....God already told us, in no uncertain terms when He founded the Church. Everyone is not free to do it their own way, He told us how to do it and didn't leave a whole lot of doubt.
Men love their sins more then they love the moral righteousness of God. alternative religion gives them amoral comfort.
Sure....the cloth or medal merely remind us of the person depicted....we NEVER pray to idols....we may pray in front of them, again only a reminder of the personage through whom we pray....see????
Church: The ultimate social club.
Thanks for the very informative and excellent article. I share many of the same views and it’s comforting beyond belief to find out I’m not alone.
The fire and brimstone guys will no doubt hammer you lol.
There are indeed many paths to God. I’ve found one myself, that does not involve religion at all. But it is very, very real. It’s not that I merely believe in God. I KNOW God.
“God is not a Christian.” What a great phrase. I’m stealing it.
My rant here may be a little off. But I am putting this here in hopes some church members might see it and gather perhaps some helpful information to help their church grow.
From the different colleges I attended, I can’t say the ‘history’ and ‘religious studies’ classes I attended were very Christian friendly. So I can understand why their ‘findings’ are saying more college equals less religion. From my experience,it felt like they are basically being taught Christianity is only a form of control of ignorant peasants.
Of course now, with the liberals having successfully taken over so much indoctrination in the churches, it is no wonder there is so much confusion.
I would like to add another really big pet peeve, which keeps many people from church. It is money.
Some churches don’t just ask for money. But have people to assist you going over your finances to ensure you are giving enough. My finances and giving to the church should be strictly between me and God.
Some churches also volunteer you to do things you don’t have the time or money to do. I have a relatives struggling really bad raising a large family on a small budget. But their church keeps committing them to work and items they can’t afford or have time to commit. They are miserable and broke trying to stay in the church.
The ‘progressive’ doctrines and the costs are very much hot items which are chasing away potential members. But I do believe there are far more Christians than any of these so called polls can count.
Then they are not christian

The whole thing is a lie and a false teaching of Rome.
Nope.
10. How must I wear the Scapular in order to receive its benefits?
You must wear it over the shoulder so that one part hangs over your chest and the other side hangs over the back. Both parts cannot be carried in the front or the back, otherwise, the wearer runs the risk of not receiving the promise.
18. Must I always wear the Scapular or may I take it off?
In order to receive the promise, the Scapular must always be worn. We must understand that by wearing the Scapular we show our consecration and devotion to the Blessed Virgin. Our Blessed Mother cannot be pleased in any one who out of vanity or fear takes it off whenever it is not convenient to wear it. By wearing it we make an open profession of our faith, confidence, and love of Her.
The social club comment is about right for some places.
A megachurch extension opened close to me. A mega-church in its own right. But one of many off-shoots from its original megachurch. I enjoyed their radio program previously and looked forward to them coming. Then I read about how they have a coffee shop in the hall with high priced drinks like starbucks. No simple coffee and chit-chat there. And the more I read, how everything was ‘priced’ from counseling with the minister and certain gatherings, etc. the less excited I was. Needless to say, it did seem more like a club than a church.
P.S.
No, I didn’t go. Took the air right out of my balloon.
I don’t attend churches where the pastor drives a Mercedes.
When Jesus returns, all bets are off.

Good observation!
There was a charge for counseling? What church was this?
Southeast Christian
I'm sure the Holy Spirit will do just fine with the old narrative. Those whom God will save, He will save.
